You're sort-of right: 1/The *monitor* responds with a reading of how you're pushing. The machine itself doesn't actually respond at all; it's an irresistible force that moves at the prescribed speed, no matter how hard you attempt to speed the concentric or slow/stop the eccentric. 2/Because it enables the expression of full effort, (if desired), through the entire ROM, concentric & eccentric, at certain points in a rep, subjects can push/pull with force greater than they ever dreamed, thus extreme inroad is possible in the most efficient manner ever. *However*, traditional progressive training, done properly, over time, will yield , at worst, *very* close to the sema results. To train for years & yet make incredible gains with a new machine is due to acclimating to the new protocol, &/or not having trained properly before. 3/If rest is ketp to a minutum, a full ARX workout can actually be done in 10minutes!
