Tell that to Jesus, who lived His earthly life as a Jew, observing all of its customs and practices. He challenged corrupt religious leaders, but His recorded ministry is full of moments where Jesus is observing His Jewish faith...hello, ever hear of the Last Supper? It was a Jewish Passover meal! He constantly referred to Scripture fulfillment in His life...the passages in the Old Testament that pointed to Jesus. That came from the Jewish religious writings! How would we know that He is the Messiah without those religious Scriptures? Time to put that catch phrase to rest--Jesus IS about His example of faith living (in His religion) AND desires that we enter into relationship with Him! It's NOT one or the other, don't be mislead. His faith (via His observation of His Jewish religion) was the foundation of His ministry.

In Islam for example, it's all about confession. You don't even need to believe. But what does the bible say? "And Philip said, If thou believest *with all thine heart* , thou mayest. Benny did not condemn the prosperity gospel. The gospel remains as always will prosper but prosperity is so much more than finances. It is just not transactional the law of sowing and reaping continues. Benny's view was perhaps transactional previously but he believes in giving to the gospel the rewards are not bought or earned but sowing and reaping into a crop one believes in. So yes it is still giving without compulsion and being cheerful because the harvest is plentiful.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!

Religions of the world strive to "earn" heaven (God's peace, etc.) but One died to provide forgiveness and give all blessings: Faith in Jesus is the One faith that cannot come thru our earning or striving. You cling to religion? Then your faith is weak, if not non-existent. If you truly believe your religion is correct, you don't need to cling to it. It becomes second nature to believe, and worship, and to seek God's approval in everything you do. You need to take some time to figure out what you truly believe, Brad, because that phrase indicates that you are not sure. If this is truly the path you want to follow, you should be able to walk it with confidence; not hesitancy.

Forgive me for my cynicism but I don't think that matters of faith that pertain to conversion cannot be simplistically declared as true or genuine making it akin to plainly changing shirts or clothing by the topic's subjects. In the Biblical spiritual realm, your entire personality is involved, affected and thus transformed with genuine conversion. It's not like the "religious ritual type" Conversion where one simply puts on a happy face and a decent wardrobe. No, I am not hypocritically judging them, rather, I am testing their spirits by their declarations to see their authenticity, if there be any. And that will take time. So, before making any grand proclamations, let's wait for them to prove their words. In this same token, I can imagine how the early Jewish Christians and apostles felt upon hearing of Paul's Damascus conversion. Some may have uttered words flatly like "how lovely" albeit lacking enthusiasm due to insufficient time and opportunity to be proven true or false. "by their fruits ye shall know them". I'd rather wait and see.

False religion and false faith will send more people to hell than agnostic and atheism. You must worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Jesus said, “I AM the truth, the Life and the Way.
