I think Pitt wasn’t as naturally talented as Dicaprio or Cruise but by his mid thirties was able to equal or maybe surpass them. Part of it was he had a terrible speaking voice in his 20s, which ended up being one of his strengths in his 30s.

What I loved about him he was willing to venture into films that showcased his acting talents... His works with Fincher, soderbergh, Tarantino, Terence Malick, inaritu. Even his acting in assassination of Jesse james was also really good. I always felt he is a better than tom cruise.
