LOL @ how we raised twins 20 years ago. We didn't have any of the above mentioned products but I'm glad that you do so that you can enjoy the newborn stage. Us OG's didn't know any different.

Yeah, I told my mom I wasn't going to cloth diaper when I have a baby and she said yes, she remembered it being a hassle all the safety pins, rubber covers and boiling diapers. I showed her how we cloth diaper today and in my area we have a cloth diapering service so just use and they deal with the cleanup and drop off fresh diapers weekly. She looked at me and told me I was weak and don't know how easy I have it. So now randomly she just looks at me and says, WEAK! I think I am going to have to cloth diaper if for no other reason to earn my mother's respect back.

I also just had an IVF baby and have loved following you in conjunction with my own journey :) Have you heard of the book Secrets of the Baby Whisperer? It goes along the same schedule as Babywise (except for it also includes "you time"- only a mom would think of that!) and also has helped us TREMENDOUSLY in trying to decipher what our baby's cries mean. I truly don't know how people parented before that book was published! :)

I wouldn't worry about using too much gripe water! Both my babies had reflux and that made hiccups painful so I would give them some gripe before every single feeding! Couldn't have lived without it! Also, for sleep training I highly recommend the book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. As a first time parent, I found Baby Wise to be way too alarmist (I didn't really realized that till I had my second baby!). We sleep trained both our babies starting at 6 weeks and to this day, (they're 5 and 2) both are still amazing sleepers!

Good to know! I agree .. Babywise is on one extreme for sure!

Great video! Do you let Lyndle sleep over night in the rock and play? I only say it out of love because some babies have, unfortunately, passed away in them. It can make their necks lay in a way that they can't breathe. I loved them with my son (during the day) for naps. I started out letting him sleep in it because he had bad acid reflux, but once I read more, I stopped letting him sleep in it at night although he has always been in our room. You listed a bunch of awesome things. Those nursing/pumping bras are gold as well as the steam bags. Have you tried gas drops for Lyndle? I used those as well as the gripe water for my son and it was amazing for him. I am pregnant with #2 and have a 15 month old. Something I insist on getting this time is a Moses basket. I think it would help you carry the babies up the stairs if it would work with twins. I'm not too sure. That may not be safe with multiples. I'm glad you reviewed those girdles. I really want to try one this time.
@meiraloraduncan89536 жыл бұрын
Ashley May You’re not supposed to carry your baby in the Moses baskets. The handles are just for ease of moving the empty basket. They typically aren’t made to hold more than one baby at a time.

I had a baby with reflux as well and nothing worked better than Dr. Brown's bottles and sitting him up 20 minutes after eating! My "baby" is only 7 yet we still didn''t have a lot of this stuff just 7 years ago. I exclusively pumped for him (he was a preemie and never could latch) so like you, my pump was my best friend and went everywhere I went. I spent hours trying to figure out how to make holding that darn pump at my breasts for 20 minutes every 2 hours easier. Finally, I found this band with holes cut out of it for $40 from some tiny shop in Canada. It was the best investment ever! Now it seems they have really great bras for pumping! I'm so jealous ;) So glad they have made that easier for moms these days! I wish I'd had the owlet too! His reflux caused him to stop breathing on occasion so I was a paranoid mess! After a 3 day hospital stay to address that issue, we did end up getting a monitor that would go off if he stopped breathing while eating or sleeping (anytime else I could see it coming) but it was like strapping him to a cable box. It was crazy! I'm so glad you all have some of these amazing products now! I can see how helpful they are! They were much needed! I think you two are doing an amazing job parenting! You two work so well together and your precious little family is so sweet! Blessings to you all!

We are expecting twins in a week, and my husband and I are curious a few more details on the owlet monitor and using it with twins...do you have to download 2 apps, one for each device? What was the easiest way to use the owlet monitors for each twin? Do you just switch back and fourth when checking the app for each child? Any help or guidance with this system would be appreciated! Also-you are my favorite vlog to watch, I wish there were more couples like you out there! Such an inspiration to me as a soon to be twin mom! I have watched every video and am excited to stay updated with your family💕

I love it SO much!!! I’m pumping more milk and it’s very comfy, especially with coconut oil. It also angles the whole system down so if you lean back, milk doesn’t collect in the flange!

Brad and Rach Hensley is just a week younger and I started pumping but like I said was like razor blades. So I stopped but now she wants to eat every hour to two hours at night so I wanted to start pumping again to up my supply and could use bottles at night so my nipples weren't getting so sore at night. So I wanted to thank you so much. We ordered them off of Amazon tonight. Our insurance only covers the pump. Love hearing all your tips and your journey. I know it takes alot of time out of your day. Also good luck selling your house it shouldn't be a problem it's so beautiful there. I also found out my abdominals separated too and have to reach out for pelvic floor therapy.

Hiccups are just air sitting on their diaphragm in a unusual way. That's why when you scare someone or take a drink of water it sometimes helps in stopping them. I'm sure hiccups do help with strengthening their muscles but I would think they really don't need the gripe water and it works instantly BC their sucking on the dropper and moving the air on their diaphragm. Try the dropper without the gripe water next time and see if you get the same result.

Kim Parmer scaring works on getting rid of dog hiccups too, I use it on my dog's and it works everytime instantly. Wish they could use it on me too though lol

Once your sterilizing bags are used up you should check into the munchkin bottle steamer sterilizer. Its the same idea as the bags but just reusable. Thought I would mention it because you guys have mentioned you like to be more conscious of your footprint with throwing things away.

I know you probably already know this, but the rock and play is not SIDS safe, and babies r not suppose to sleep the night in them.
@bumpybackroads15816 жыл бұрын
not to be captain obvious... but once they start rolling from side to side... i wouldn’t leave them in the co-sleeper on the couch... if they roll in to the edge of the sleeper and lean too far it will eventually roll off the couch.
