Whhhhats up KZbin, this is Brad Browning… you guys already know who I am, and you know my videos are all about breakups and getting back together with an ex. Today’s video is probably going to stir up a bit of controversy, because in a second I’m going to explain a few reasons why you SHOULD get back together with your ex.
See, I frequently see comments on my KZbin videos where people say stuff like, “Your ex is your ex for a reason!” or “OMG you should never get back together with your ex!!”... now, sometimes that’s actually true… some relationships just aren’t worth saving. Occasionally, a person might simply have no chance of winning back your ex. So, there are a few exceptions… but most of the time, breakups don’t happen because two people are just fundamentally wrong for one another. Usually -- and I’m sure many of you watching this video can relate to this -- a relationship will begin perfectly, full of passion… couples will be madly in love, share an intimate connection, and want to spend every waking moment together. But then, usually gradually over time, things start going downhill.
But the key thing here is that most relationships WERE great in their early stages. You found a compatible partner, fell in love, and built a close connection. That doesn’t happen easily or often, I’m afraid. You don’t fall in love with just anyone… we’ve all been on terrible first dates and been in short-lived relationships that had no future.
See, developing an intimate bond with someone, falling in love… it’s relatively rare. Most relationships or flings will fizzle out long before they get to that stage. If finding a soulmate was so easy, and you’d be compatible with just about anyone of the opposite sex, then we’d all be married to the person we went on our first date with. No-one would be single for more than a week or two after a breakup.
I think that my point here is pretty clear: you had a great relationship with your ex at some point. You know you’re compatible and have the ability to love one another. But, somewhere along the way, things unraveled and the relationship went downhill. What if you realized what went wrong and knew how to avoid it next time around? If you and your ex were to get a second chance at love… start from scratch, and this time get it right the first time around… why couldn’t the relationship stay healthy and lead to a lifetime together?

If your ex is not attracted to you enough to stick with you because of a "bad time" whatever that means, you can still try to rebuild that attraction. The bottom line is she's lost enough attraction to not work on anything in your relationship.

Ex of 4 years relationship, we didn't communicate for a bit after since it was way too hard, after we moved on a little we didn't entirely cut contact, we would send each other reels and catch up sometimes, half a year later he suggests getting back together. Our first 2 years were really good but the last two not so much because we would keep circling back to the same issues. I am open to retrying because I miss the good moments and connection we had together. It was our first relationship and at the beginning of our 20s, we didn't treat each other so well. It took a while for our anger inside to die down. I think that we needed some time to experience things by ourselves and to grow, also to look at the relationship from a different perspective. Looks like there is potential, let's see.

True, hence, you needed at least 30 days or more before attempting contact again. I noticed some people here try to find ways to end the "no contact" phase prematurely and are met with failure. Just make sure you aren't one of them. Well we didn't end on bad terms, we never cheated on each other, we never did drugs, i was best friends with his female best friend, who is helping me cope. He broke up with me because all of his focus is at school right now. He thought we were drifting apart. We broke up after 3 years. And he said he wanted to get back together later if possible. Everything you say is true, but when these videos offer 'psychological advice' and that kind of shit, it puts your ego above the relationship. You put trying to win them ahead of them. I agree. You need to live your life. In other words, your ex has lost attraction and it's up to you now to rebuild the attraction. But right this moment, I suggest you get busy with a lot of stuff like hobbies, work, etc. focus on what makes you feel good and take time to heal as well. Brad, my gf is thinking about breaking up again for the THIRD time now. We've been together for almost 5 years and been off and on for the past two years. Thanks for the advice Brad. I just read my copy of the ex factor for a 3rd time and am currently employing no contact. She has reached out to me briefly a few times and everything went well. In our relationship, we were mainly arguing about little dumb things and just couldn't see eye to eye. For example, I cooked dinner for us one night to surprise her but she got mad at me Bc she already had other plans and we were eating late when she was starving. Her getting mad at my gesture ultimately made me mad Bc I was just trying to do something nice. Arguments like that plagued our relationship and were difficult to cope with. Hello, Dill Mill Gaye! There's really no need to block your ex though, that should be your last resort. If he has (clinical) depression though, then the most loving thing you can do in return is to give each other space while he/she gets help. Encourage your ex to seek treatment because clinical depression is something only a therapist specializing on this can handle, even this is outside of my scope. My ex broke up with me less than a week ago. In 48 hours, he literally went from "I want to spend my life with you, he started looking for condominiums to buy together, travel plans, life plans, etc" to "I just need time away from you but, I want you in my life, I can't be with you right now, I just need some space, I care about you a lot." I got upset and asked him to take all his stuff and move back to his place and I told him we should no talk again. How can his feelings change so fast? He cried and said that's not what he wanted, that he wanted me in his life, bla bla bla he asked me if we could be friends and start building a stronger relationship but, that his feelings right now were as friends. Then, he went to 2 parties that I was supposed to attend as well but, I didn't because he was going to be there, and everyone kept asking me about him, that he was just sad and antisocial. His best friend texted me and asked me about him, like how was he doing, etc. when he clearly knew he broke up with me and we were not talking. At that point, I just got very mad at my ex and texted him that he should stop playing victim, and stop being sad because he wanted this, he wanted to break up and take some time off so, why is he sad? He responded that he was hurt, that it's obviously hurting him as well. I just told him if it's hurting him and hurting me why did he ended it? He just responded, "I just need sometime away from you." So, I haven't contacted him again. Also, he told my friend that he wants to be with me but, we both need to work on personal stuff. It hasn't been a week since we last talked, I know but, should I expect him to contact me again? Can man really go from "I want you, I like you a lot, I care about you, you are the best woman I have ever had, I want a future with you?" to "Let's be friends, start over, I need some time away from you." I have kept to the no contact rule for 31 days and sent a text to my ex that said he was right to break up with me even though it hurt, I see we had serious problems with our relationship. I also text that I compromised some of my values to stay connected with him, but I lost something very special. I hope you are doing well.... He did text me back and said he was sorry that it went the way it did, hoped that I was doing well. then said he needed to get some of my things back to me that I had left at his house. He hadn't forgotten, but has been busy. I waited over 1 hours to respond to that and acknowldge I knew I had some things there and told him I could come get them on Friday. He volunteered to bring them to me today. Hi +Brad Browning i am in a difficult situation. Me and my ex ended on good terms and had great memories together but she broke up with me due to family issues. I thought her family problems were just excuses to make it easier to break up with me but i found out i was wrong. A divorce is messy with settlements and all that. Let him finish that first so you two can have a clean start as it's very likely he's being bugged down by all the mess in his life currently. You can try but give him space first (especially if he ended up dumping you) and don't push your own agenda/plan to get back together right away as that can do more harm than good , all right? On Tuesday i am meeting up with my ex. We broke up 6 months ago. I was having doubts about us, even tho we were perfect together and he was amazing. I was afraid of commitment, was starting university and i wanted to enjoy students life. I'm telling myself that this time I'll balance everything but obviously I dont know that until the time comes. I hope that I would be able to. I need some insight please. She broke up with me a month ago, she said she wasn't happy and that she needs to find herself and needs space. Brad, i recently went through a tough break up. I made the mistake of cheating on my new ex with my old ex. While some of most of the times it happened it was my old ex forcing herself on me, the last time i got drunk at her Christmas party and i cheated again. I was honest and told my girlfriend, and she broke up with me. after a week since the breakup i was mistakenly begging and trying to get back with my ex. i finally stopped and started nc.(btw, we are both in our junior year of high school and share many classes) today i broke my nc just to make a formal apology for how i acted the past week and for making the mistakes i did, and she said thank you, and i began to walk away and she lightly grabbed my hand but then let go. i now am continuing on the no contact period. im working our, losing weight and getting back into my body building form, and my attempt is to wait two or three months, then try to slowly rekindle my relationship. using many of the tactics you advise. if you can provide any help with my situation that would be great. i have been with her for two years and im goddamn determined to keep going with her.

So my ex broke up with me about a month ago, I didn't initiate no contact and we spoke during that month period. Well a couple of days ago she came over and we were talking on decent terms, when I went to take a shower she look through my phone and saw that my mother was understandably upset that (my now ex) dumped me and said some things she didn't mean but hurt my ex girlfriends feelings. My mother later that night told me she didn't mean anything she said and told me she was just angry. Majority would decide to just move on for good and start afresh with someone else, but a few would still fight for the relationship, so this all depends which side you're on and what your views are. im 22 and hes 23. Me and my bf have been together almost a year. We became long distance for 5 months but closed it off and moved in together for two months but he had to move to a diff city an hour away for work temporarily. He deleted all our pictures and told our mutual friend its impossible to continue this relationship. Next week is valentines day and also our anniversary can i contact him? 5. he seems to not care at all cause he did not even give a closure or talk to me properly. Hello brad Me and my boyfriend broke up about 25 days ago now his reasons were (we were arguing too much, he felt he didn't have the time to give me the attention I deserve, he thinks he's losing feelings, and he's tired of being unhappy). We continued talking for a week after the breakup but that just consisted of me begging and pleading for him to give me another chance a trying to convince him, this stopped once I watched your videos, so I took a step and apologized for being pushy and desperate. I then told him that I didn't want to talk to him until I was completely over him and maybe then we could be friends he didn't seem too upset about not wanting to talk and that hurt but I knew it was for the best. But before going I told him I did not want him to contact me unless he was ready to work things out and see if we can try again. He basically said he's unsure that anything will change because he's tried getting back together with exs before and it didn't work. He said time will tell and we will either end up together or we will move on, he kept telling me not to wait for him. Anyways after starting the no contact rule about 5 days in he messaged me on Instagram saying "sorry didn't mean to send that" even thought he never sent anything so I just ignored it. But then a few days later her sent me and funny picture on Instagram basically saying he has no girls on the go, and again I just ignored it. But just a few days ago 2 weeks into not contact he messaged me just saying hey and when I responded he said "do you want nothing to do with me" of course I said no and we just had a Normal conversation as if we had never broken up and nothing had changed.. he was getting super curious about what I was up to and if I had done anything with other guys and how I was doing and I was just left super confused because I told him not to message me unless he wanted to work things out. So the next day I asked and he said " I just messaged you because it had been a while and I wanted to see what's up" and when I brought up how I said we won't talk until I'm ready or you're ready to work things out and he just said he kinda forgot about that and then apologized and said he felt bad. I then reminded him to not be afraid to contact me if he ever wants to try again and he said okay. But all these mixed signals are confusing me and I'm not sure what to do anymore

I forgot to mention I have 2 Instagram accounts one for my friends and one for everyone and my one with friends, my one with friends I post lots whenever I'm doing something fun and he unfollowed that one.. I mean if he doesn't care wouldn't he just keep following it because he's unbothered?

Hello, Kathy! The thing with exes, especially the one who's doing the dumping, is they also struggle with the breakup and finding all means to cope...including talking to someone they're used to talking to, a.k.a you. What that leaves you, however, is unknowingly becoming their emotional sponge. So if you want this ex back, you ought to let him/her feel what it's like not to have you in his life first, so employ the 30-day "no contact" rule, okay? My ex broke up with me after having a self destructive episode due to the fact that she doesn’t know what her future holds and when she broke up with me I felt so used and hurt, I explained to her that we could have worked together on getting through this but her Bipolar Disorder makes her overthink and question everything and theres so much more complicated things and I just am stuck trying to figure out if I should go back or not

If your ex has a mental disorder like depression, bipolar disorder, IED, NPD, or the like, the most loving thing you can do is to give each other space while he/she gets help. Encourage your ex to seek treatment because this is something only a therapist specializing on this can handle, even this is outside of my scope. But I can help you how to handle things on YOUR end as you go through this difficult ordeal. I know it can be incredibly tough knowing you’ve given it your best shot, yet your partner still fails to appreciate it or is breaking up despite it being a good relationship. Anyway it's a bad idea to be friends with an ex especially knowing they have a mental health condition. In the end, they will drain you and leave you with lots of scars that would take years of therapy.
