Staying in Bradenton was an excellent strategic location to stay on gulf coast of Florida with its close proximity to Longboat Key, Siesta Key and Anna Maria Island all places I wanted to visit and videos coming on.

Usually reviews will tell you all the good and bad about an Airbnb. Just like they do for hotels. I always find that helpful 👌👌

I honestly can’t remember if we looked at reviews for this place or not. But it would’ve been nice to know about the entry situation and the fact that it was on the third floor with all of our stuff and no elevator lol

I've never stayed at an AirBnB so I can't comment on that yet, but I do like staying at hotels. I used to work in Tourism so it just takes me back to that time which I loved. I agree that it's easier to keep track of your stuff when in a hotel room. I like to keep all my stuff together in one place. I never unpack in a hotel and I always wonder why they even have drawers/bureaus but I guess many people really like to unpack even for short stays. LOL That place is very nice though. "Roughin' it" without a king bed, yup. I agree. Hahhaha

Oh wow I don’t think I’ve known anyone yet that hasn’t stayed at an Airbnb LOL. I don’t get the whole unpacking in the hotel thing either unless you’ll be there for a week or so I guess it makes sense. Yep without the king bed is definitely roughing it😄

I was in that area in June. There is a great public beach near by called Manatee Beach on Anna Maria Island. It is the nicest beach I've been to so far in Florida.

I stay in hotels and airbnb. I like them both. Hotels are predictable and reliable. Airbnb can be very refreshing and unique. In the coming month, I am going to stay at an airbnb in upstate New York. The house sits right on Hudson River--my dream setting!!! It' beautiful, unique with healthy and positive vibes. They charge $ 500 per night plus other fees ( 5 bedrooms.) The hosts live in that river house. When there are guests book their house, they vacate from their house and live in another place.

@@MichaelBordenaro Yes, the house looks awesome and all the rooms are tastefully decorated. The best part for me is the abundant outdoor space, especially the Hudson River!

Yes I think I prefer the hotels for the most part unless I’m going to be somewhere for a long time then I would rather be at an Airbnb so I can have all the comforts of home kitchen sofa bedroom etc.

Beautiful place and location! I have never stayed at an Air B&B. I typically like staying at a hotel with a pool, jacuzzi, and gym. This place looks nice snd peaceful though. Glad you enjoyed it! Too bad about the key card situation though.

@@MichaelBordenaro Yes...for the very reasons you mentioned. I like known quantities and resorts, if I can stay at them. I know they cost more, but especially with a kid, and a husband who works out every day (I do too, but not like he does), I like knowing there is a nice pool, gym with free weights, and a Jacuzzi. If you can't get it, I understand. It is not that I would never stay at an Air B&B, but between the two, I would probably choose a hotel. (Although for longer stays, it would at least be beneficial to have an efficiency set up to make food, and not have to spend an arm and a leg going out for every meal. We do buy stuff at grocery stores on vacations, to save on food costs and eat healthier.)

We did a couple of Airbnb's over this summer. One was a shared home which had bad smells and you could hear people below. The other place was an apartment which was great. I think like you said it is hit or miss and hotel def better for convenience/price. Thx for sharing. Also forgot to mention i think you can find location of the place when you book but not sure my wife did it lol
@MichaelBordenaro
@MichaelBordenaro 3 жыл бұрын
Yes they’re definitely hit or miss. You will get the address once you book it but that’s not very convenient because if you’re not happy with the location then you have to go through the whole refund thing. With a hotel you know where it’s at before booking

I've stayed in quite a few air b&b rentals and so far haven't had any issues. For most trips I prefer them over a hotel. I'll book a hotel if I really just need a place to crash at the end of the day.

Never stayed in a Air B&B. I would like to buy a place and make it an Air B&B. It would make far more money than having it as a rental. Expecialy in Florida and large vacation areas. How ever I would want it to be a min of 3 bedroom or more and I would definitely have to have a better line up and be available around the clock. That's how you get repeating people comming back and sometimes people are willing to pay more for top service. I have 2 regular house rentals now in Ohio where I live. I make myself available to my tenants 24/7 and I keep the properties kept up and things are fixed right the first time. No duct tape repairs alowed. Not many places take pride in customer service anymore.

I hope you gave the host a ding for not giving you gate access. I bet you are right, the host is not supposed to be using this as an Airbnb. I have stayed at 4 Airbnb's. A couple of minor problems, but nothing major.. No gate access to me would be a major issue.

The three times I’ve used Air BnB in Miami, I had no WiFI and no hot water, and the owners always said “Oh yeah it works. You must be doing something wrong.” Then, they would want a screenshot of my phone or iPad to show them there was no WiFi like I had to do something besides put in the WiFi password. I stopped using Air BnB after that.

I’ve never stayed at a Air BnB, really don’t want to and most likely never will. I don’t like the idea of people renting in a residential area, or dealing with an individual as opposed to a company. Not to mention when dealing with an individual you don’t know what your getting into, hidden cameras, dirty, or the area.

It’s a NO for me regarding BnBs. Too sketchy. Owners may not be as truthful as the should be. Staying in hotels I know exactly what to expect and where it’s located. If something is amiss, I have recourse. If somethings not just right once I get to the room, it’s a simple call to reception to get it corrected. 🤨
