I grew up in and follow Barnsley, by rights being local rivals I shouldn’t like Bradford but yet I do. One reason being the day Barnsley got promoted to the Premiership, we played Bradford that day and even though they had the threat of relegation that season they applauded the Barnsley supporters as they left the ground. The main reason is because the way the city conducted themselves after this horrific tragedy, they mourned and had a dignity with no histrionics. Sometimes Bradford gets lost and forgotten after Heysel and Hillsborough but I never forget the 11th May, local rivalries mean nothing compared to that day.

The ground that they have now is a fine monument to the people who died. RIP 56 fellow football fans from a MUFC fan

Thanks for uploading this, I was born just a couple of years before the tragedy and have been a city fan all my life. We don't get to talk about it as its just too hard for the family.

RIP from a Hibs fan. the tragedies of the 80s, Bradford, Heysel and Hillsborough, were three very different but nevertheless horrific events, but the fire at Bradford will always strike me as the very worst of the lot. this could have happened at any stadium in Britain at the time, the old main stand at Easter Road, like the old main stand at Valley Parade, was a decrepit and dangerous structure, it's just a shame it took this sad event to make clubs modernise their stadiums.

Something almost carthartic about this film as the city of Bradford tried to come to terms with the horrific fire. Terry Yorath was no stranger to tragedy of course a few years later. I have the utmost respect for him. This film is a stark reminder that the Britain we lived in nearly 30 years ago was a very different one - well done to all in Bradford who got behind the club in subsequent years

it doesnt bear thinking about. if that stand had fences at the front.

Doesn’t bare thinking about, fencing was the the reason so many died at Hillsborough 4 years later. Yes, I know other things played into the Hillsborough disaster but fencing being in place stopped fans from reaching the pitch when overcrowding occurred from the rear.
