Thanks I have the same water heater and was perplexed as to where it was located.

So what was the final solution for the smell problem?
@striker1211Ай бұрын
@@tedlahm5740 still no solution, the new anode helped for sure but I think I need to drain the entire tank and put some chlorine tabs in it or something. I wish I would have just done that when I replaced the rod since now I basically have to do it over because of Bradford whites poor design.

do not use a MAGNESIUM ANODE ROD.REPLACE WITH AN ZINC ALUMINUM OR CORRO-PROTEC FOR BRADFORD WHITE. Smell is gone. The smell drove me crazy for about 3 months. i tried everything , cleaned sink overflow, drain pipes, etc. What is even stranger, the original rode was magnesium?????But that rod caused all the issues.

Suggest a plastic or AL drain pan underneath your new heater which protects the bottom of the heater from reacting with the concrete floor. Also, best to get a three point grip with your pipe wrench, both jaws and the rear of the fixed bar.

I can't recommend it, the smell came back after a few days, unfortunately. It was made by "Water Connection." model AR145.

Flush out your tank. Pur a garden hose in it and let er rip. You'll probably see a bunch of black crap come out. I do it every year in October. I also use an electric Anode (Corra-Protec)
