Thank you so much for posting this video. Denny Dent was one of my classmates at Oakland High School and a good friend. I am so sorry that we lost him so soon. He gave us an outstanding show of his artistic skills at one of our class reunions. It was great.

They should make a movie about this guy. The soundtrack would be awesome.

You're right, Craig. He was terrific to work with as a performer. He did a LOT of corporate events where he'd paint just like this and give a terrific "art attack" using the music of Lennon, Hendrix and so many others.

I remember that episode of Donahue. It has always stuck in my head and every few years, I like to search out Denny Dent videos as a reminder of how awesome his performance was. Thank you for introducing me to his work. I am jealous you have one of his originals.

Hi there, Melissa. What a lovely surprise to hear from you today. I was thrilled to meet Denny and then produce his appearance on Donahue. He was a lovely man and I have his Elton painting right here in my Brooklyn living room today. Do you have any of his paintings yourself?

@@Bradh1961my 10 year old daughter wrote that. She is very much an artist. Was very excited to learn about being related to such a great artist as Denny. Such a shame that he died before she had the chance to ever meet him. Dennys mom (my aunt Annie) was also a very talented artist and super theatrical.
