Closing November with a swell that brought large waves to Hermosa Beach

In this episode of Swell Stories we cover a swell which brought large surf to the South Bay.
This swell brought mostly closed out head high to nearly triple overhead waves to Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.

This sums up the South Bay pretty well. 97 percent close out tubes,blown out by10 am unless u have rain, Grew up in redondo beach from 76 till 89.At 16 me and my friends would pull into huge close out barrels at burn out beach,ave.I and drive inside the tubes for a long as we could,with no leash, we had it dialed so as to have the board get caught in the spit back of the exploading wave and pop out the back. Didn't swim in on 6 rides one day. That was the highest I got. If u saw a trinitron TV rolling down the stairs in 1979 on a sunny afternoon down avenue c stairs,so did I. It exploaded like a bomb when it hit the bike trail,on its journey down the stairs,to this day it was the loudest thing I ever heard in my life. Kids,a trinitron tv is like a giant peice of wooden furniture with a tv built into it.
