Thanks for checking out our Tupac reaction. Changes is a nice change of pace from the Thug Life side of Pac. We wonder if he would have lived longer, would he have gravitated to making more songs like this or more songs like Hit 'Em Up.

Racism isn’t debatable 2pac even acknowledges this in the song and experienced racism directly. His mother was a black panther for crying out loud. He’s talking about being a black man through his eyes… it’s not wrong to acknowledge that racism exists in this world.
@maxpeck7382
@maxpeck7382 3 жыл бұрын
I suppose that means you spend as much time policing the race stereotypes Black people speak about white members of society or spend time working to get rid of skin color based privileges for certain groups in college admissions compared to groups like Asians who need to score 450 points higher on SAT with all the same other stats like GPA as another who is Black or other to only get treated back to equal in the selection? We don't talk about the racist nature of skin color representation policy or casual racial prejudice done by Black people and Black identity politics much in this country, there is a lot of teaching/lecturing others going on all the time and not a lot of focus on looking in the mirror.

@maxpeck7382
@maxpeck7382 3 жыл бұрын
@@moriellymoproblems7842 I didn't use deflection because last I checked a set of racist behaviors experienced by someone are still there when a differing set of racist behaviors experienced is brought up as taking place as well. The fact that their is so much reflexive social leverage privilege to lecture and assign collective racial guilt to individuals today who are white no matter if they don't identify with any groups that identify by skin color is racist. There is no right, no decency, no equality in the modern privilege of even the most rookie Minority Racial identity political activist to assign collective guilt upon individual white Americans and so thrust race identification upon that person. You seem to think that a White person needs to support Racial group identification done in the name of combating racial suffrage. I don't see how more group identification by race will ever diminish identification by race one day. I would rather compare/share individual life experiences in conversation with someone like 2Pac, that way their is less race identity team politics at play and more empathy on a personal level. Outside of minority identity political activist groups and the remaining White Supremacist organization members who else spends any time in political groups who's primary focus is on identification by color? I think not making individual conversation connections together over personal experiences like the individual white person's experiences of racial treatment like treatment under heavy handed group judgement narratives made by Minority Race political groups with no tact or care only births deep identification by race and more racial animosity.

That last verse is so iconic, especially the part talking about the cops, because 2pac literally shot two white off duty policy officers who were harassing a black man. To me he was a mix between Malcom X and MLK . The latter is because he wanted Black and white people to be together and live and struggle together so that there could be changes made. Tupac disliked the Media and Government. He felt he was targeted by the FBI and other agencies . He was right but also he knew a lot about the social structures and street culture and he gained so much popularity for good and wrong reasons. He shouldn't have made enemies but this is due in part of his life and the things he couldn't control.

Like a couple of comments said below me. Tupac was very socially aware but also aware of how politics are involved in social issues today. He wanted people to get together and start making positive changes. But this song also reflects the reality that some things won't ever change. We can change some things and or make things better. Black and white people have to be together and not hate each other but learn and appreciate one another. The only set back really is the media and the government. That's also mentioned in this song.

It's all layered like an onion. Cool channe guysl. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts.. it's refreshing to hear what our young people have to say about the music, life and the torch they now bear. And no baby sis, "mama didn't raise no fool" has been deep rooted since we got here baby. Pac expresses his cultural views. Soldier. And Young brother. When you have more life experience and knowledge you won't have such a narrow view. You can tell when a person has not been faced with enough adversity..

Pac was different from other gangsta rappers cause he had another dimension to his perspective. He grew up with his mom being both a crack addict and a prominent member of the Black Panthers. This is just my opinion but I feel alot of these entertainers we group up with that had deep messages about peace and equality have been eliminated. It seems their voices became to powerful with to much reach for them to be allowed to continue. Call me a conspiracy theorist if ya want but I feel this way.

It's still very much alive and well in UK HipHop. Four Owls, Fliptrix, Verb T, Leaf Dog, BVA (all 4 of which make the four owls), Concept of Thought, Upfront .... to name just a few.

One of the saddest lyrics in this song, is he just about foreshadowed his death when he said in the last verse: "And as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped And I never get to lay back 'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the payback Some buck that I roughed up way back Comin' back after all these years "Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat, " that's the way it is" and he died after a fight in Vegas & most people theorize that he died after being shot by the guy they roughed up at the Tyson fight earlier that night.

This song was released posthumously & supposedly the next album he was working on was to bring East & West together, he supposedly had a lineup of East Coast rappers to contribute in his next album but due to his death nothing was ever recorded.

Considering his lines about war in the Middle East and war on drugs, considering Obama continued those policies, he might see that policies and content of character mattered more than color of skin. With Obama, skin color changed but things stayed the same in that regard

The whole entire social landscape of hip hop would been different if he was still alive no mumble rap would exist which would of been a blessing. On the flip side would Eminem be accepted by Pac & be signed by Dre. Would there still of been a beef with East vs Westcoast rap. Would Pac become friends with Nas & Puffy like Snoop did after he died.

You two lack an understanding of what growing up in a dangerous neighborhood is like. And I'm grateful for that. That's a good thing. Ice Cube said in one of his earlier interviews that this is a snapshot of their reality. It is violent and conflicted. It's all of it. It's not promoting violence. It's showing what their reality was like.

Backing track lifted from Bruce Hornsby’s THE WAY IT IS song. PAC’s mother was/is a member of the Black Panthers. Slayer - SEASONS IN THE ABYSS (official video - illegally filmed in Egypt - they asked the Egyptian government for permission to film but they were denied - they filmed the video in record time and got the hell out of the country) Megadeth - SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION (live that one night in Buenos Aires) - Megadeth, Megadeth, AGUANTE, Megadeth Metallica - BLACKENED (the BEST song they ever wrote and played)
