Great video. My 10 yr old loves his Bradley Next Play glove.

Hi there. I have 10 year old grandson. He weighs 62 pounds , 4ft 5inches. So he’s not big. Using a R9 11 1/4. Plays shortstop. Trying to decide what size he needs in the Bradley
@PerformanceFactoryBaseballАй бұрын
@@robbiebuck4541 I would go 11.5. 11.5 is probably the most common shortstop size. And still big enough for him to play other positions with if need be.

My son had a Mizuno prospect and he still has a Rawlings R9 and a Bradley Next Play. He plays first base for rec, travel and all stars. Here's our experience for first base gloves. The Mizuno Prospect forms a better pocket and results in better forgiveness when catching the ball. However, it starts to get flimsy after 2-3 months. The Bradley Next Play lasts longer and breaks in well. However, it has been difficult to form a nice pocket and the ball is more likely to pop out when catching the fast thrown ball. We just got the Rawlings R9 and it seems to be the median between the two gloves. Bradley is probably the best for infield/pitching but not so much for first base and outfield.

@@jonchoi1233 yeah mizuno is pretty underrated here in the US. They generally make very good stuff. Their adult gloves are very good. I’m curious how the water dunking method would be for a Bradley. Maybe it would help form a pocket a bit better. I have heard good things about the r9 and it gets suggested a lot. Youth gloves are kind of just in a weird spot where you almost have to choose between usability and quality. Bradley is great but it still isn’t like the adult gloves. I bought my son an a2000 this offseason and it’s been like a full time job trying to get it broken in and ready to use haha

@@PerformanceFactoryBaseball im in the same boat. Just get my 9 almost 10year old an 11.5 A2000 DP 15with super skin. It’s been a bear to break in. He’s on the smaller side so it needs to be broken in pretty well before it’s game ready. I’m a bit concerned that I might have over bought here. As a dad, not my first time and likely not my last time.

@@kevinchan5864 yes breaking in a top level glove is definitely a beast of a task haha. My sons I have been working on for probably 3-4 weeks 10-15 mins a day of pounding it with a mallet and working it and it is just getting to what I would call usable.

Do you think the next play 11.75 h-web from Bradley would be good for a lefty that is in 8u coach pitch now and until spring, he plays outfield and is an overall utility player that will be transitioning to 9u next fall? He has did well with a Wilson a500 11.5 but wanting to get him something that will last longer, we throw and play a lot.
@PerformanceFactoryBaseballАй бұрын
Yeah I would say that’s a good option. For someone who plays more utility between 11.5 to 11.75 for that age Is going to be ideal. Not a big believer at that age in having kids switch gloves and stuff depending on position unless it’s very specific like catcher or 1st. 11.75 will be a solid glove size for every position

What about the nokona alpha s-100? Have a 5 year old that plays 6u. Trying to find him a higher end glove..
@PerformanceFactoryBaseball Жыл бұрын
Nokona makes great gloves. I have tried an adult one but my son has never tried one of the youth ones. Funny enough their HQ is about 40 mins from where we live or so. My only concern with a 5yo unless he is really big is that it will probably be too big for him for about a year or so. That being said Nokona, Bradley and 44 all have great youth options and cant go wrong with any of them.

Does the glove not keep its shape well or did you squish it flat purposely?
@PerformanceFactoryBaseball11 ай бұрын
It definitely is not nearly as stiff as any sort of higher end HoH or a2k/a2000 etc... because of that it is definitely more prone to losing its shape. Also probably doesn't help its being taken care of by an 8 year old that just throws it in his bag with no ball in the pocket or anything lol

Relace will give it its shape back.@@PerformanceFactoryBaseball

I was thinking the same thing. It's not the glove, it's the way it's cared for. I am a Bradley rep.
@PerformanceFactoryBaseball5 ай бұрын
@@delcy28 it's 100% because of him just throwing it in his bag and getting crushed by various items lol. As I mentioned in the 44 video I did think the Bradley was a higher quality leather.

Great video man i have a 7yo that just started playing i see alot of kids in the tournaments we go to have huge gloves what size would you recommend. I have him in a 10 1/2 but the coaches I've talked to always recommend between an 11in to 12in. What do you think?
@PerformanceFactoryBaseball6 ай бұрын
what position does he mostly play? Obviously at 7 they are probably switching around a lot haha. 11-12 is a good estimate. If primary position infield id say 11.25-11.5 is a good bet. If more outfield id say 11.5-12. Honestly 11.5 at that age is probably a good all arounder. Long enough to play OF and short enough to not mess up ball transition on the infield!
