The Washington wizards messed up when they tried to trade for Russell Westbrook. They gave up all those draft picks and then traded him the next year. The best thing they could do for their organization and their franchise would be to trade every asset they have and start over

They only gave up one pick and the trade helped them get rid of the awful John Wall contract. Then after trading Russ to LA + other trades they eventually ended up with Kuzma, Will Barton, Monte Morris, Porzingis + cap space. It was a great trade

Oh god... Good for Beal but when he asks out two seasons from now, he'll be the one (in addition to Kyrie) who causes a lockout. The owners are gonna get sick of players getting their max (which they're entitled to) and then trying to jump ship a year or two into the contract. The owners are going to want a proviso that if you ask for a trade less than 50% into their contract they can be sued back for the remainder of the contract. Chris paul and the player's union will fight it but the owners can wait them out.
@PickpocketJones2 жыл бұрын
If Brad asked out in two years, I'd actually bet the Wiz would facilitate it because he's been a dedicated franchise guy his whole career. I don't think that would be a situation with animosity because it would mean they failed to put a good group around him.

I disagree with Tim Legler and Kendrick Perkins. I think Bradley Beal has a chance to win in Washington with the Wizards. Kristaps Porzingis is a very talented big man, and they have some nice players around both of them. Don't forget the Wizards traded for Monte Morris from Denver. They drafted Johnny Davis from Wisconsin. They still have Kyle Kuzma, Rui Hachimura, Daniel Gafford, and Corey Kispert. It's not out of the question they could win 50 games this year. That hasn't happened since 1978-79.
@warrenfuhreal84562 жыл бұрын
Lol bro I don’t think you really know basketball that much I’m not saying your comment is stupid but porzingis is trash that’s why he got traded from Dallas for spencer dinwidde who’s making a better impact on the mavs. Kyle Kuzma is not even that good wizards ain’t a winning team haha. You’d be a legend if they actually did it but highly doubt they will 😂😂
@ABattocchi2 жыл бұрын
@@warrenfuhreal8456 Porzingis was an All Star with the Knicks. What makes you think he can't be with the Washington Wizards? What about Johnny Davis? We still haven't seen him play in the NBA. You could always trade young talent for a 3rd star to go with Beal and Porzingis. My point is that moves could still be made to contend.

Brilliant move by Beal. He doesn’t wanna get caught up in this super team nonsense and he’d probably have to take a 50% or more pay cut just to join. Wizards low key have something going for themselves. They got Avdija, Hachimura and Porzingis. Just start playing Avdija a lot more at PG and they should pretty much be good. A lot of people in the comments talking about loyalty. It's not like he's taking some hometown discount so they can go out and get other players. In fact he took MORE money than any other team would have been able to pay him. It's loyalty to money if anything. And he sees how easy it is for stars to demand trades so that's always an option.
@gadd-002 жыл бұрын
These people talking about Beal shouldn't stay with the team that gave him his shot at success, are plain stupid. Success doesn't always mean the grass is greener on the other side. @swaveyion94532 жыл бұрын
He secured that bag with the wizards because nobody else could offer that much money. If he wants, he can force a trade in about 2 years and still be young enough to be coveted by title contending teams. Either by buyout, trade, or just simply cutting him, he will still get paid the garunteed part of that contract. Even if he never leaves, winning a ring isnt everything. Especially in todays NBA where superteams are always being made every other year. Way too many variables to bank on to win a ring when you can just get garunteed life changing money instead, because life goes on even after basketball. Smart man
