"i'd rather fail at it having tried" Think about how terrifying it is to be a first time director as such an a-list actor. Yes you have the means and access but you also have ALL eyes on you with HIGH expectations. He delivered. I am excited for this new chapter of films by Bradley Cooper.

Denis Villeneuve on Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born "It’s not easy to make great and convincing love stories these days. We are living in cynical times. There has to be a strong directorial voice behind the camera to be able to bring truth and genuine emotions to the birth of a relationship, without falling into the multiple traps of sentimentalism. The authenticity and generosity in Cooper’s feature are remarkable."

his directing for a star is born is great, idk if it's the best this year though. he does deserve a nom imo but he deserves a win for his performance. i know people are trying to get rami malek the win but bradley deserves to be rewarded for that stellar performance and the years he put into becoming a singer and transforming himself for the character.

Exactly! Wow. This is the best comment i've read about this topic. He deserves a nom for direction (definitely) but he deserves a winning for acting! It's finally his moment and people who want Rami Malek don't know anything about all the effort Bradley put on this movie.

Absolutely agree!
@PretentiousStuff6 жыл бұрын
@@ferjimenez1520 rami malek put 10 times more effot in that role, lol, you got no idea what you talking about. the only reason you support cooper over rami is cause coopler played a dude who seduced an aging woman just like yourself, of course, ya typical broad thinking with your emotions rather than your head. but if you actually use your head you'll know that nobody in the world couldve pulled off the role rami took on, playing freddie mercury who is probably one of the most complex and complicated human beings to ever walk this planet, cooper don't hold a candle to what rami did as an actor. what years did cooper put into his role? learned to play simples progressions on guitar? I can teah a 5 year old to play on that kinda level guitar in 2 months. voice? there was no voice in that movie, ask any good singer or people who know at least something about music? what else did he do? greased up his hair and played himself? you woman have no idea wtf you talking about. rami will absolutely crush cooper at the globes, sag, bafta AND oscars and you'll be watching that live on tv. but i do agree cooper deserves best picture for his film as producer cause that was indeed a good job.
@ferjimenez15206 жыл бұрын
@@PretentiousStuff lmao dude calm tf down what the fuck 😂 "an aging woman just like yourself" when i'm actually 19 lfmao 😂 you're so offended it's actually funny, you have no fucking idea why i liked Cooper's performance, and i saw both movies and sorry for not being part of the 100% of people who say Rami Malek deserves an Oscar just because they're Queen fanatics, not because they actually know about cinema lol. I would've loved to see Rami learning to sing both studio and live, learning to play instruments, writing songs, co-writing a script and directing himself tho. Oh and btw Bradley worked with professional musicians (not talking about Gaga, obviously) so yeah i could fucking ask anyone who really knows about music and i know what they would say.

In my opinion; Bradley Cooper was the best in A Star is Born. He did a good job singing, directing, producing, and especially acting in the film. His acting performance was the best out of the entire cast and it overshadowed Gaga’s acting performance. He totally transformed into his character & his performance was very subtle & natural. Lady Gaga was very good too especially with her songs & singing.
