A missed opportunity to tell the story of a man who loved Felicia but also, Men. Loved Thomas Cothran. He left his wife for him but went back to her when found out she had cancer! And later cried on the deathbed of Thomas, dying of Aids. I feel there is a lovely love story that Cooper could had explored more but whitewashed to tell it!

It is time to repent! It is time to BORN AGAIN! It is time to reject all sins! it is time to pick up your cross and follow the one who redeems your soul. This world serves BAAL, why you want to do the same? Are your eyes still blind, that you see not, all the idols of yours are showing off freemasonry hand signs?. GOD - the creator exist and god of this world exist also. One redeems, the other deceives. Between these 2 a choosing is to make, WHOM SHALL WE SERVE? Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Maestro was okay but it wasn’t amazing. Cillian is a very natural actor who has a natural ability to embrace and evolve in the roles that he plays. He took on the role of Oppenheimer and embodied him and his ways in a way that comes to a very brilliant actor with natural talent. Bradley is a good actor but I see a difference in the effort he puts into his roles and yes, it comes across as desperate.

I think the reason why people (myself included) are not rooting for him and are actively rooting against him is because he didn’t make Maestro for the average movie watcher or even for Bernstein fans. He made the movie for a very select group of people to stroke his ego.

Yeah watching it even as a classical musician I can tell it wasn't made for me. Carey Mulligan carries the film and if she won the Oscar I wouldn't be mad, as it's probably her best performance. But the rest of the film? Pretty bad tbh

The problem with Bradley cooper is that he looks so desperate to win an Oscar. Of course so much hate isn't right but in a way he provoked it. In my opinion maestro is a mediocre movie. The only exception is carey mulligan.
@monicad9911 ай бұрын
what exactly shows him to be so desperate? just curious here, because most of what i’ve heard about this film, as oscar bait etc, was from external, media sources. he cares about his movie, and put effort and passion into it. why is it interpreted as desperation? why is maestro desperate oscar bait, while tar wasn’t?

I can't find the video with the discussion with emma stone but I ve seen the whole interview.. he has this superior narcissist attitude.. and he can't accept the fact that another actor needed only 6 months to be ready for such a demanding role .and he was better ( that's just my opinion)

@Sam-qq2em11 ай бұрын
This is nonsense, Bradley Cooper immediately stood in glowing ovation for Murphy. And was smiling in the later shot after the speech. Clickbait garbage. And the negative reaction to an epic portrayal of a legend of classical music just goes to reflect the anti-cultural, anti-intellectual, anti-classical sentiment in the United States. Classical music is relegated to its own side show at the Grammys, and constantly rejected as elitist and irrelevant. Cooper did an Oscar-winning job of playing one of the cultural titans of the American 20th century, and his performance does not deserve this kind of idiocy. Murphy also gave a great performance, but this was another level of craft, pulling together so many physical and emotional elements. Cooper does not strike me as the type to disparage his fellow colleagues. This is pure invention at the expense of high culture. I hope he wins.

I really was compelled to watch this film to learn more about Leonard Bernstein since I am a huge fan of West Side Story. I was a bit disappointed that there were no songs from it represented unless I missed them. Bradley depicted a good representation of the lifestyle that surrounded the music and Bernstein’s obsessions and difficulty with relationships and boundaries. I think he fell in love with this man and family along the journey investing a great deal of time emulating his patterns and musical talent.
