Who is here after the No laying Up podcast with Brendon Todd? I just bought Brad’s ebook after listening to Brendon explain how he went from missing cuts to back to back victories on the PGA tour thanks to Brad’s ebook and drills. Makes so much sense!

This guy is awesome. A talented communicator as well as swing expert. I've watched hundreds of videos from dozens of instructors and this guy is my favorite.

Bradley is awesome! What is great about this guy is that he has proven himself on the tour. Not one of these guys that proclaims to know how to fix you although he has never proven himself where it counts. Like Lee Trevino said... "find me an instructor that can beat me on the course and I will take his advice"

I love how you discuss the feet 👣 as it pertains to ground forces & how weight pressure moves integrally between knees & feet in relation to the ground & upper body. It makes so much more sense that way. As crazy as it sounds, when I’m having trouble hitting & rotation through the ball, I can “feel my feet” working through. And this subtle awareness will usually resolve my rotational issues, for example, on a cold day when my back is tight.

Best early extension diagnosis and explanation on the internet!! Thanks for the information!!

The best thing I ever did was approach my swing with the idea that the ball isn't there, or rather it is incidental. I started to focus on my swing and forget about the ball as an object to be hit ... it was merely something in the way of my target goal ... to complete my swing. As soon as these ideas started to ingrain better ball striking started to happen. The ball itself and the obsession with the ball is the biggest hindrance in Golf. We need to forget about the ball to start hitting it well ...

I have to say that I have viewed several of Bradley's videos and have found they make more sense and have had a positive impact than the vast majority of stuff I have viewed before. They address the underlying reasons why things aren't what they should be rather than simple fixes - my understanding has been increased dramatically -Thanks Bradley. I also note that most video have an incredibly high ratio of positives to negatives which is a great sign

I agree. He demystifies the swing and “the move” better than just about anyone else I’ve seen/heard.

Thank you for this, Bradley. I had always been confused about where my weight should be at address. Many KZbin instructors I came across over the years always insisted on having an "athletic" stance at address and that this could only be achieved with having the weight on the balls of the feet. The weight on the balls of the feet sounds great but I found it doesn't work, at least for me, because it's led to problems like early extension. Your view of the weight being more on the ankles is actually more in line with Ben Hogan's lesson on stance (pp. 55, 56, Five Lessons). I have now been trying to maintain my weight in the ankles (with both knees turned in slightly as suggested by Hogan) and it has resulted into better ball contact. Thanks for reaffirming my swing change. It gives me hope that I'm going in the right direction.

Excellent video.....AGAIN! I would change the name of the video to: "Bradley Hughes Golf- Early Extension- How To Fix It - SOLID STANCH EXPLAINED" The "solid stanch" explanation is so incredibly good. After all my years of playing golf I never once knew what to work on as far as focusing on the feeling that I was getting in my stanch. I went to the range today and worked on this specifically and it made a HUGE difference....particularly in the confidence that I had before every shot knowing that I had given my stance actual thought beforehand. Thank you Mr. Hughes!!!!

Great video and very informative. I have always liked your videos and was hoping you would redo your first once as they were bad video quality. Thanks for making this one.

There are different schools of thought and not enough space to discuss here, but, in my opinion early extension is mostly caused by a steep angle of attack, rather than trying to accelerate the club too soon. Nicklaus said he tried to release the club as soon as he could. I think that trying to hold off the hit and chasing an image of shaft lean at impact can cause all manner of problems including a steep approach and early extension.

Ben Hogan talked about how the weight should be more towards the middle of the feet so that you could easily wiggle your toes while you're positioned over the golf ball. You can't easily wiggle your toes if you weight is on the front/balls of your feet (yes, you can still wiggle them a bit, but not easily and as freely as if your weight is a bit further back).

I early extend and it looks like I thrust the right knee towards the ball and as a result, at impact my right hip has come forward and my right heel is well off the ground. Would it help to practise keeping the right heel down until after impact?

my shoulders tend to rotate to early and causes a slight over the top move which cause me to pull sometimes. Anyway to fix that? +GolfAus
