The way Bradley demystifies and describes "the slot" and how to get there is also genius.

This is best golf instruction on KZbin, period. I’ve been watching and learning from a bunch of hacks. So glad I found your channel Mr. Hughes! So much of what you teach is counter to what the so called “experts” are preaching on the other YT channels. Can’t wait to binge watch all of your videos!

thanks for this video and the concept of throwing a ball was what clicked for me.throwing a ball with a side arm motion is what I think of before addressing the ball. John

Absolutely spot on! This man has changed my game. I am hitting my 3 utility as far as ever- 240-250- I played a 430 Yd Par 4 yesterday, hit the 3 utility then a 6 iron in the hole from 185! Bradley you changed my game-

I come back to these videos from time to time when my habits have taken me elsewhere. Really appreciate your videos. Ive had moments where my ball striking has been phenomenal. Only issue is i have about 15 years of throwing my hands like phil mickelson and under pressure I revert back to it. And Ive found its so much easier hitting the ball straight with your classic 430 approach, but when i need to shot shape its still so difficult for me

Concur 100 was pct with Cadmodel , Brad is soo spot on . He is pure genius. Having all that freedom from the slot position with the hands out in front allows you to really unleash turning everything through.without fear of getting stuck.

Solid clear instruction into combining the shallowing of the downswing keeping hands out in front then on to transition and rotation into the ball. Due to BH Im getting more consistency and more power. You beaut !!

At last the mysterious slot is defined. I could never find it before. While studying Bobby Jones vids I noticed how close his hands returned to his leg at impact. THAT was the end of my over the top swing. This was the slot.

I agree with lots of other positive comments. Mr. Hughes really knows the golf swing and how to communicate it to others. I just started using his instruction and, although his philosophy is new to me, I can already see improvements in accuracy. I have lots more to work on to regain lost distance (stomach hernia repair and total knee replacement last year) but it is comforting to learn from an accomplished player rather that the mass of wanna be's on KZbin.

Excellent tip! Thanks! Is your weight more so on your right heel in the backswing, then weight transfer to your left heel on the transition?
@carlosjuarez95274 жыл бұрын
I think a good way to start the downswing and put you in the slot is to start the downswing by dropping the right shoulder down as the first move in the downswing. It puts you in the slot automatically. It will automatically clear the hips and drop the elbow to the body automatically. Try it.

Hi love yur vids. Ive been finding that if i dont have enough weight on my trailing foot at address my takeaway gets either very steep or if i dont fight it the takeaway goes really inside. What do you think about having your weight distribution at 80 percent towards the trailing foot???
@GolfAusBradleyHughesGolf6 жыл бұрын
thats off balance....50/50 is the key....how wide your stance is will make it feel like you are more on the left (short clubs) or more on the right (longer clubs) because of where your head and centre is relative to the ball because of that stance width

Question. In the slot, you club face appears to be wide open. It doesn’t look possible to square it up without massive forearm twisting. Am I missing something?
@pacmanjones56255 жыл бұрын
yes face is supposed to be wide open from P3 (high high). From there you can rotate your forearms as hard as you want and don't have to fear hooking the ball. The big hook comes from not having the forearms rotated open at that position and if you were to rotate hard with the forearms from that position without having forearms rotated open prior to that then you will close the club face drastically. Just try it. Without a club in your hand Stick your right arm out to your side like you are shaking someone's hand where your palm is facing outward toward the ball. From there swing with your right arm hard and you will see how much your arm turns over and your palm facing the ground on the other side past impact. Do the same thing stick your right arm out but this time have your palm facing the sky (forearms rotated clockwise, aka club face "open" - which really isnt actually open) and then swing through with your right arm past the ball and you will see that even if you do it fast and hard it does not turn over near as much as when you did it without having your forearms rotated. It should feel like your club face is wide open and you will shank the ball approaching hip high on the down swing, but with it being that wide open it allows for full forearm counterclockwise rotation to square the club face, along with that added speed of the club face rotating, and gives your more range of motion to fire your hands hard without fear of the ball going left as long as your body is outracing your hands to the finish. It feels very very weird at first but practice it a few times and eventually start hitting balls and you will get the correct feeling. People fear the open club face because they correlate that to a slice, but if you are in the slot approaching the ball from the inside with an "open" club face, it allows for more range in the shoulders and forearms to subsequently unwind and turn left hard through the ball. The slice comes in from zero forearm rotation and guiding the club down through the strike holding it off. Another way to think about this is a forehand shot in tennis. You approach the ball with the tennis racket open/forearms rotated open and as you approach contact with the ball you rotate the racket and your forearms hard to square it up and produce additional speed at that last foot before contact as your arms unwind vs. have the racket facing the ball and guiding it straight through the strike

I’ve watched most of your video’s, it’s helped me. I find it very disconcerting that you go thru a 12 minute video and NEVER swing the club...wtf?
@gerrymcintosh4477Ай бұрын
Bradley, do you believe we should be « twisting » (supinating) the glove hand into impact to close the club face? I don’t but, I’m curious to know, if I should or need to? 🤷♂️ Cheers mate. 🇨🇦💝🥰
