👨 ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
Hi I'm Shaun Jones. I am a personal trainer, gym owner & martial arts enthusiast. I started lifting weights so I could add more size and strength to my frame to help with the grappling aspect of fighting. I then developed a passion for strength training and coaching others to do the same. I now upload daily content to this youtube channel to help educate others on martial arts, self defense, awareness, fitness & overall provide social commentary in hope I can help a few people who need it. Hey, Jones. We agree on what you said. The lad had some wrestling bakground, probably far more than myself in years and level, but I don't respect him for just hanging on Bradley's legs...thought it was one leg until I saw it again....Bradley should have sprawled hard and either taken the neck or spun to try and take his back...but little big guy, no respect for being defensive. Bradley scored 1 point in HS freestyle with a simple takedown, taking guy to his knees. Other guy 0 points. If we are being technical on who won the wrestling match. That first boxing match looked pretty intense, somewhat skilled, to me at least, with the first two boxers.

ok if you grab the bottom of someone's legs you can take anyone down. The question is what happens after the takedown, you need to be in a dominant position otherwise it's not a takedown. You arej ust going to the ground with your opponent and doing nothing.

Peer pressure will be the down fall of Bradley and zoo culture. Even with the dudes who were hot boxing the sauna in the gym. brad pressed them ab it but he eventually caved and allowed them to continue smoking even though he was clearly somewhat worried by it at first which is why he said something. You can see how much he cares ab what people think and how he allows others people’s opinion of him to dictate his reactions sometimes.

I’m the Mexican who boxed the wrestler. Lol. That day (Saturday) was supposed to be sparring for me anyways but I had ditched training that day (I do MMA) to go check out brads 1 year anniversary for the gym. Safe to say I knew what I was getting into because that guy who got knocked out was right before me and the wrestler boxed. I had no worries though I’ve delt with fellas like him in sparring before who swing uncontrollably while praying for connection. Just had to keep my guard up and find the proper counter/ opening. As someone who has been sparring and fighting for a very very long time (over 15 years now to be more clear). theres a couple easy to apply rules that will make pretty much any and every sparring session go very well. Rule number 1: Newbies never get matched against newbies in sparring. Whats worse than one inexperienced fighter, who both lacks control and is wildly unpredictable, posing both a threat to others and himself? Two of those idiots stuck together in a ring flailing hay makers left and right while off balance and with their guard down. Its not good fighting, doesn't look cool, isn't funny, and no one wants to see it. The first couple months or so of sparring for a newbie, should always be done with someone who is at a much higher level, and confident with their skills. This is because they have the instinct, stamina, physique, and understanding required to be capable of keeping themselves safe while also allowing you to learn your techniques without inappropriate things like emotional offense getting in the way. quite often a higher skilled sparring partner will allow the other to land lighter strikes in order to help them build confidence, while also tapping the areas he is forgetting about or leaving wide open, to show him where he needs to defend without punishing someone who is still new super harshly and embarrassing them for no good reason. In the case the newbie gets out of hand and starts swinging like a mad man, the skilled fighter isnt going to have any issue planting a decent enough shot to get their attention and make them calm down. Rule number 2: Body shots can go up to 100%, but not all of them should be. head shots should be at 40% or less, and if you can tell its gonna hit them in a bad spot or too unexpectedly, you should let off and tap them instead. sparring is about learning, not hurting. Punishing the body is ok so long as you dont take it to far, it will build core strength and create durability and stamina for real matches. Punishing the head in practice is just stupid. its useless, and its only cuts away from your longevity as a fighter, getting your head smacked hard enough, enough times, WILL turn you into a vegetable. *40% or less to the head, 60% to 100% to the body. Goal: to learn and help each other grow.* Rule number 3: "With passion, not anger". A favorite quote of mine from bruce lee. A warrior, a true fighter, is not one who allows the adrenaline and emotions to take over his mind during a fight. Not one to simply submit because its the easiest path. Presence of mind, understanding the moment, living in it consciously as a true martial artist. "kung-fu is not a martial art. it is a way of life." Many think kung fu means to fight, or to kill, or to be great at fighting. kung fu means none of these things. Kung- meaning skill, hard work, training. Fu- meaning time, enduring through endeavors. combined, the literal translation is: Great skill, aquired through extreme training for ones entire life. All martial arts are "Kung-Fu" as are all of the highest levels of skill and talent in this world. Kung-Fu is a way of life. [Acquiring extreme skill through dedication over lengthy periods of time] is a way of life. And so you should carry that way of life consistently, and be present throughout it. A warrior cares to win yes, but he also cares of whom, and why, and how. Those are all the reasons that make this warrior who they are after all. 3 simple rules, and everyone, regardless of the martial art being practiced, should be safe while sparring. Of course use some common sense and do it somewhere soft like mats, sand, or grass. im tired of seeing young men smack their heads on the concrete. like yall are literally still kids, im only 24 and some of yall in these fight videos look like you are 12. Think about your mothers before you do that stupid crap.
