@@newsoftheday420I also used to think like that but a few months ago I almost lost an eye because I wasn't wearing headgear. It is very important and it also helps with head movement because when you are sparring without headgear after sparring while wearing it for a while you feel lighter and can move your head well. I got a severe injury just because I wasn't wearing a headgear like I said. It doesn't protect you from long term damage but it surely protects your retina being detached from your eyes and stuff like that.

As long as its in a controlled environment, I think its actually awesome. Same with Streetbeefs- only thing there though, I hate that the fights are taking place on literal dirt. Other than that, signing a waiver and settling disagreements using mutual combat is absolutely awesome. Better than knocking someone out and having them whiplash the pavement with their head- that's how someone gets killed. At this point I kinda wish I could just invite people that try and get physical with me on a mat lol...

I believe headgear helps a lot at the lower level. When a fighter is at a point to where they are getting hit with shots they wouldnt without the headgear is when is becomes a liability. This is because of the headgear makes their head a larger target. The logic you apply that the brain still absorbs the impact would mean all helmets are useless which is obviously not true.

Head gear matters. Why? If someone dies, just because you sign a waiver doesn't mean there can't be damages in a civil case. A waiver certainly isn't the end all be all. Fights like this with novices fighting, always have them wear head gear. Always think of the civil case if you have to answer for why someone died for something you promoted. If someone dies, the family is always going to sue somebody. And a waiver doesn't mean you're 100% protected.
