I visited my parents today and this was on the television in the other room. I got up and went to see what it was. I say for a few moments and listened, and my mother soon followed. I was immediately reminded of my grandmother and it gave me the happiest kind of sorrow which cannot be described by words. A bit after this song “I’ll Fly Away” was performed and mom shed a few tears. Now tonight I listen to this alone and it brings tears to my eyes, but of the happiest kind.

My grandpa passed away 2 years ago. I miss that man every day. He was around 95 years old when he passed away and he played the harmonica his whole life. Right up to the end. The only video I have of him is him playing this song with my uncle playing guitar and singing.
