Brian Howard Clough OBE was an English football player and manager, being one of only four managers to have won the English league while managing two different clubs. He played as a striker and remains one of the Football League's highest goalscorers, but his career as a footballer was ended by a serious injury. As a manager, Clough was closely associated with Peter Taylor, who served as his assistant manager at several clubs in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. They achieved great success at Derby County and Nottingham Forest. He is also remembered for giving frequent radio and television interviews in which he made controversial remarks about players, other managers and the overall state of the game.

All football games are safe to go to, times have changed a lot since the 70/80/90. Of course there is rivalry between fans and sometimes it escalates outside the grounds but not much, just be sensible like everyone else. It’s certainly not a reason not to go or be afraid of. And you’ll find chants like this at almost any game you attend 😁
@argantyr51542 жыл бұрын
people are just blowing off some steam, by singing these kinds of thing, and no one really gets offended, as you can see from the Goalkeeper, its part of the game and anyone can be targeted as you saw no matter if its the Ref, Sky TV, random person in the Crowd, people at home, your own Fans (if they sit down as you saw) etc.

The atmosphere at English football matches is unique and amazing - if you ARE coming to the UK be aware that it's not that easy to get tickets for Premiere league, Championship or Champions league games. Because of the violence in the '70s and '80s you more or less have to be a member of a club to buy "normal" tickets to be in the stands, otherwise you can only get "hospitality" tickets (very expensive) where you sit in the press gallery or the directors boxes which is not quite the same vibe as the terraces. Do your research and call the club you want to visit a few weeks in advance. Also be aware that football in the UK (and all of Europe) is not like the NFL or NBA - it's not exactly a family event - the crowd will be 95% young male and it can feel aggressive and intimidating. For some "needle" matches the police presence is huge and travel restrictions are not unusual meaning for instance that you can't use certain tube stations in London when Arsenal play Tottenham because the fans have to be physically separated before, during and after the match. It's not just about merry banter, singing and sport, some people take football a bit too seriously... There is, sadly, still a dark side to football in the UK. The passion that leads to the creativity in the singing can also cause problems. You might want to see this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4OQXoelh8qYgpo.

My friend used to watched his son play football at amateur weekend games and the parents were, lets say very competitive apparently. The Canada men's national soccer team have played at the FIFA World Cup on one occasion, in 1986. For most other editions of the World Cup, Canada has not succeeded in gaining one of the places reserved for the North American CONCACAF teams. This year though they have qualified to play in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November, because of the hot summer conditions it's being held in the winter time. The last time the Canadian men played in a World Cup, in 1986, they lost all three of their group stage games and didn't score a single goal.
