I've been doing hair for 20+ years and I remember one time highlighting this girls hair who must have had black metallic salts or dye and it went from black to light blonde in about 10 minutes it was steaming and the bleach went from a thick paste to water,and yes it all fell out I almost wanted to quit doing hair it was horrible and I'm surprised I didn't get sued, lost story short do a better consultation and maybe even a test strand.i took full responsibility for it but clients also aren't honest about what they have in their hair.. that girls hair in the beginning totally reminded me of that situation. @@rainforce7456 Brad says it's because you don't know what you're getting or how much. My assumption is the companies don't put the amounts of chemicals on the box because they don't want their secret formulas out there for competition to replicate. That's just a guess though.
@anarchyneverdies35672 жыл бұрын
@@rainforce7456 the issue with hers was that they had metallic dyes in them that reacted badly with the bleach and the metals weren't listed on the box. Had she done a test stand, she may have noticed it getting very hot and making the hair mushy. The reason Brad hates it is because you "never know what level of developer is used", but it's typically 30 or 40vol, so my biggest issue with it is the fear that they won't mention the dye has metals in it. It's not always terrible, I went from box dying my hair black for years to having level 10 blond and I barely had any damage from it, but I got lucky. It could've gone far worse

When I was younger and naturally blonde as a kid my hair would turn green from being in the water and my aunt used to have my mother use ketchup to get rid of the green my hair got from being in the water. I know this sounds crazy but it works! I am a hair colorist now and the reason it works is because red cancels out green. But she had purple/violet so that is why It didn’t work! Haha.

Just a guess, but I think the ketchup works not for the color correcting but because the green is usually caused by chlorine, and ketchup usually has some vinegar which is acetic acid, and the mixing of the two probably lifts the chlorine out of the hair in a v gentle way.

She put one more layer of the “old” bleach and this totally fried my hair. It had major breakage. After finally getting her to answer my calls (2 hours after I left) she told me there’s nothing she can do. Haha I finally found an amazing new hairdresser and right now (5-6 months later) my hair is finally back to “normal” thanks for listening to my rant :)

Neon skin so i fist of all left it alone for a while. Don’t use heat on it to dry. Let it air dry and when it finally is , use a Formula 18 repair oil. Let that soak in and use it every night. Do not use any heat product in your hair. That will just fry the ends (I did that and it made it worse). Also try to avoid taking showers. If you do use a shower cap. Once your hair starts to look better, use cold/warm water in the shower. Hot water will make it worse too. Hope this helps =)

Over time the damage was so bad, that my natural curl would no longer show like it used to , I cut off 3-4 in of the fried ends .Immediately after that my curls begun to naturally form again a little.at first ..then improved gradually . I hope hers recovers quickly I'm afraid though that even though that treatment she used seemed to help ..is still prob gonna break off a good bit during grow out,she may be better off trimming it every CPL weeks to gradually lose the damaged as the healthy grows bk in .I don't know .... .😥😥😥😥😥

I tried this experiment a little too late, but it did revert some of my green strands back to my original blond color. I guess there is some logic to this claim!

😂 when you said you were surprised it was still on her head. My hair dresser says that every time see saw me for two years. I always told her it’s because when I go home I talk to my hair and tell it how good it was at the salon. Now whenever I’m getting my hair done and someone talks to her about my hair she says “when she came in she had super long hair, but it was damaged so we cut it short. Honestly all her hair should of fallen out a long time ago, but she praises it so it stays strong” lol and I crack up every time. My hair is super over processed and whenever I bleach it (the ends have been bleached a bunch over the past 2.5 years since they were black and red, but going platinum with time in between) I always say “I could go bald today, so I better start upping my makeup skills to counteract my big ass head” thankfully lots of coconut treatments and only washing it once a week keeps it in normal condition. I’ve never had true spaghetti hair, but I’ve definitely had straw hair @-@

Aphogee REALLY helps. Doing that and a really REALLY moisturizing treatment behind it helps. Aphogee is a protein treatment, and using it once every 6 weeks can bring back natural curls. It puts the necessary proteins back into the hair. Every customer I have at work (Sally’s) that has fried their hair manage to keep it on their head using this treatment. It’s definitely worth a try and really helps with some textures for frizz. Brad, definitely look into it if you haven’t already!

This treatment can be amazing. Just don't use it if you don't really need it. Your hair needs a balance of moisture and proteïne. If you have chemically processed it or used a lot of heat your hair tends to need more proteïne. This treatment is one of the most intense proteïne treatments out there. If you have to much proteïne in your hair your hair becomes brittle and will break. To much moisture on the other hand makes your hair swell up, become overly soft and limb. This also can break it. So please do your research and use whatever your hair needs. Look for curly girl method-youtube channels who have videos on proteïne vs moisture. Listen to your hair and learn to read what it needs. There are other milder ways to add proteïne to your hair if you need less than she does.

Do you re read the shit you comment? Shave whole head and just buy wig. Yeah, that is so much better. And so what if it grows back just because it grows back one shouldn't just shave unless you're going for that look. Treatments help a lot and hair ends up getting better and ready to be burned off again. Sarcasm just in case you don't get that last part and start thinking of something really super smart.

So the solution to not washing ur hair is bleaching it????? If ur afraid to wash it because u don't want to strip the oils out....why would u think bleaching it would be better. Back in my day (before olaplex was a thing) we bleached and then slopped a whole tub of hair cholesterol on that bitch and gott a trim. And then prayed to the hair gods for forgiveness.
@caitlinleanna50286 жыл бұрын
Rosebud Studios right.....but it was already blonde, there was just purple color deposited on top. and doing another bleach is FAR more damaging than merely washing it.
@caitlinleanna50286 жыл бұрын
Rosebud Studios not sure how but I basically said in both if ur afraid to wash for fear of further damage...why do u think bleaching would be any less harsh. And then I said some other stuff. So I went to check out the wigs and that place is shady AF! Several of the wigs they supposedly sell are just pictures of celebrities in their real hair, not a Picture of the actual wigs they’re selling. who knows what the hell you’re going to get. You shouldn’t take money and sponsorships from just anybody. it will really decline the quality of your channel. The wigs you had on , did not look like good quality. If I’m going to pay the prices that place was asking for the wigs you had on (that also claim to be natural hair🤔) I want a wig that looks soft and flowing. Those wigs look like they had some sort of texturizer in them ...but not in a good way. They were way too expensive for what you get😳

Girl why did you actually put effort into this? XDDDD
@alys45706 жыл бұрын
Alan Wilson why, yes I did. Here is a bit of a lesson. It’s a little bit lengthy, but trust me reading is good for you. Sometimes it actually benefits the channel to take constructive criticism. Sometimes you tubers really want to know what their subscribers think and give good content. Case you’re not aware that is how channels grow. Do you know what a sponsored video is? The sponsor pays the KZbinr to advertise for them in hopes a subscriber like me would check out their page and buy something. And guess what? I like to wear wigs so I went to the page and checked it out. It’s a win-win for everybody if the sponsor is credible and if they’re not, the KZbinr (if he was smart) would want to know. This is often how grownups make money from their KZbin channels and it’s how consumers like me find out about sellers. 🤔
@alys45706 жыл бұрын

the acidity in tomatoes can help balance the ph levels in hair, which makes it a great, natural color-corrector. If your dyed hair starts to look funky, your favorite condiment may be able help bring back its natural smell and color. this is why the "ketchup hack" is used.
@Imjustkayhaha6 жыл бұрын

The logic behind using ketchup: More than likely, the process probably called for ketchup plus baking soda. The idea is that the vinegar (acid) in the ketchup will mix with the baking soda (alkaline), and make a lifting chemical reaction that will bubble the toner out of the hair. Fun fact: The same concoction can be used to clean jewelry.
@nicolorange3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've also heard of people using it after their bleached hair turned green from swimming in chlorinated water or from natural springs that have a lot of minerals in them, PH balances the hair, I can imagine the red would help counteract green more so than purple.. This was the first video i watched of yours back when it was uploaded in 2018. Its still my favourite video because it takes me back to such a great time in my life. Also, i thought the wig was your real hair 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
