Brad Owen very tempting to jump back into poker, used to play quite a bit started a Family now I get freaked out now thinking of money I could lose before it was a win some lose some, now it freaks me out . In your opinion do you think throwing in the towel for good would be the smartest decision. The game has changed quite a bit but loved playing when I did.

Brad this is probably some of the best play I’ve ever seen from you, you quickly figured just about every player at the tables style and a few tells. You also picked your spots extremely well. Well done Mr Owen this is why you are where you are today. Hope to one day be as successful in this game as you are.

Aside from booking the win, I want to say this was an extremely entertaining episode Brad; really enjoyed it. the format of losing the first hand then coming back for a win was akin to any exciting stallone or van damme movie. There might be something to that. To be fair, you did catch cards and outflop some great starting hands of the villains, but your analysis of those hands to extract the max, was insightful. It reminded me of Johnny Vibes protege's recent point that you can't force the game, you have to be sharp and ready to exploit those J7 hands. And in this episode you were up against some real talent, it wasn't your average 1-2 game. So jolly well done sir! I join the growing crowd in saluting your success and insist you continue the study, learn more, earn more, and continue to entertain your fans along the way. good luck out there.

I'm so goddamn proud of you Brad. I thought you were an uncreative nit but that hand at 16:28 changed my mind. Beautiful play! You represent fullhouses credibly, because when you raise flop and then just call the turn bet, you can for sure have 99/TT/T9/K9 (not raising the turn because you are worried about QJ from your opponent). Really great!! However the Ad4d hand on 574KA should bet smaller on the river because you can't have many bluffs. Instead of betting 500 at 19:27 you should bet 300 or so to give your opponent a better price.
@BradOwenPoker6 жыл бұрын

Brad, you played masterfully this session. Getting the straight to fold was absolutely amazing. Very well done. This session just shows how frustrating poker can be (like golf). You can be crushing it, and then one iffy play (where you lost the $750) can really decrease the profit.

Great video! There were some really great value bets to people you know don't want to be bluffed live, lol. Hey, I want to thank you for tipping the cashier on the way out. While I know it may be easier to tip the dealers at the tables when you are in the ''moment'' during a monster hand. My wife actually is a cashier at the HardRock casino in Tulsa, OK. I am a poker player, but still know that not a lot of poker players tip cashiers when cashing out on cash games or tournaments. I personally feel grateful to them when I am sat at a winning table for tournaments. I know that they have a computer random assignment generator picking the seats, but still feel like they gave me the ticket for that seat on that particular night. So cheers! On behalf of my wife, lol
@JedmcCj-uq5dw5 жыл бұрын
People who don't top cashiers are stuck, just because you see someone cash thousands or dollars that doesn't mean a damn thing. Some people don't seem to understand that. I'd say people in the positive 99% tip everyone dealers and cashiers. You don't feel like tipping when your stuck couple thousand dollars, expecting people to is ridiculous in my opinion.

Love your blog and analysis. Granted I have no idea of the style of play of any of these guys, however, on your nut flush hand versus his 1010 (flush), I think all things being equal, you need to make a small bet on the river. Any small bet is basically pricing in any opponent flush, set, two pair, and in rare cases top pair (if player is terrible). The only benefit of a check is for you to hope that he has the Q flush or you know he will bluff at the pot. Additionally, some may see your small bet as a blocker bet (i.e. you hold no flush or a terrible one) and he may go over the top - very possible. Think you left a nice amount on the table there.

Brad, I had a straight flush last night. The other guy had a high end flush ( I think it was an ace), it all happened so quick, but before I realised what had happened we both check after the river. Dang! I think I tap the table out of habit (not actually checking) I was also tired, because it was very late. Anyway, not a bad hand! I wish I had gone all in on the river to gain another couple of hundred dollars. But, can't complain... what a hand!
