6 wheel articulated dump trucks have some grunt. Especially when weighted down. Used to yank fully loaded garbage trucks and tractor trailers out of the landfill all the time. The D6 would occasionally get stuck and the dumper wouldn’t even hesitate to yank it out. We used 40 ton Volvos but I’ve also run Terex, Deere, and Bell trucks too and they all have some grunt when you lock them up. 💪

You guys have the machines and land to start something pretty cool. Here’s my idea. This can be something you do only a couple times a year maybe. Idk. But put like a $10,000 price tag on this. Sell a “day on the farm” experience. Give a person an hour in the D11 or play. You can be in cab with them or maybe even on the ground with a remote killswitch in hand. The day could have a bunch of experiences planned. Would make some extra money and would give some viewers a once in a lifetime chance to operate a D11. Maybe start them in the small dozer for 30 mins to show them the ropes. Lol. But yeah you could plan out an 8 hour day with all kinds of things to do. Sell the package for $10,000. Not many people will pay that but the ones that do will likely be responsible people that won’t harm the equipment you let them run. You could probably set the D11 up as a “rental” experience and ensure the people sign waivers in case they hurt themselves being goofs. But… you can also have a remote killswitch in hand too. Having a chance to play with a D11 would be on the bucket list for a few folks. 🤔 gotta be a way to sell the experience to people and cover the insane costs of fuel and equipment wear.

I take it that tow rope is not a chain but a strap? What do you do the contours for? To contain water to avoid erosion?

It’s a 20t lifting sling👍 contours are to slow and direct the water in a controlled way to minimise erosion😁

Not sure with these model. R? but the t models, if you fold the ripper, drop it down to push yourself up n do the same with the blade, it will lift the tracks out, spin the tracks, drop loose dirt off, drop the dozer back n you should walk straight out. That bog hole didnt look too deep material looks dry but yeah

I've been watch your videos on contour banks and I have been wondering about the down stream effects of capturing and directing such large volumes of water. Given your comments on the size of the banks and the depth of water in them after a major rain event, the flow rates at the point where the banks discharge into waterways would seem to be greater than would be the case without your terraforming. How does this increased speed (i am assuming the volume over time stays roughly the same) affect peak stream heights down stream?
@thejacksonbrothers
@thejacksonbrothers 10 ай бұрын
The vast majority of contour backs only direct water to where it would end up anyway, its purpose is to remove water from the field in a controlled manner not move water to a different catchment👍 hope this answers your question
