Here's something you don't see every day: the Brady Bunch singing a '70s pop rendition of Al Jolson!

When I consume a lot of sugary foods like sodas, candies & pastries in a short period of time, I have diabetic dreams very similar to this.

Yeah I’m sure all the cool kids in 1977 were listening to toot toot tootsie

Singing music from the 1920’s. I’m sure kids in the 70’s. We’re from in’ to that!

Another hit from the 1920s was a hit again in the '70s: Baby Face was a hit for The Wing and a Prayer Fife and Drum Corps, hitting#2 on the Disco charts, #6 on the Easy Listening charts, and #14 on the Hot 100. But Toot, Toot, Tootsie is an odd choice by any standard. 😀

Did I sniff airplane glue today? Based on this video, I must've.

It's almost too surreal. Sid and Marty Krofft. The swimming pool. Fake Jan. The kids more than likely listening to Led Zeppelin driving to the studio then coming in to do numbers like this. Incredible.

I bet Robert Reed listened to these kinds of songs though.

I find it amusing you go straight to the video there's no advert or commercial.

In hindsight, Eve Plumb was the only Brady that made the wise choice to bow out of this horrifying drivel.

Oh lord, you know the guy who plays Mr. Brady must have been having Fits over this since he was a Trained AC-TOR. :-) But it paid the bills I guess.

The very least anyone can do in a production number is put on a fake smile. At 1:07, Reed looks like he just found out his dog died.

Did these people do anything on this show besides the final big number?

I'm watching all these variety hour videos...it occurs to me if Jan was included it would be much more than a Bunch. It's less than the sum of its parts without her. This goes on the list of great entertainment tragedies that she wasnt in this. God i actually want to cry.

@gerryono LOL! Yep, maybe do a whole show as a tribute to Al Jolson...

They did a lot of old time songs on the opening. I wonder if they were public domain and so they wouldn't need to pay a royalty.

Geezus they couldn't even get the dance movements right. Its not like this recorded live. Plus this song is a notorious black face song.

If this was pop in the 70s, then it's perfectly understandable why everyone got into disco & hard rock instead.

Grindy Stone Florence mentioned in an interview, the most ironic part of the Variety Show was that they were paid more than they ever made on The Brady Bunch.
