The Brahma Samhita composed of verses of prayer spoken by Lord Brahma glorifying the Supreme Lord Krishna, or Govinda, at the beginning of creation.
It is considered that Sri Brahma-Samhita contains the essence of all truths found within all the Vedas.
It is revered within the Gaudiya Vaishnavism, whose 16th-century founder, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486-1534), rediscovered a part of the work, the 62 verses of chapter five, which had previously been lost for a few centuries, at the Adikesava Perumal Temple, Kanyakumari in South India. Adikesava Perumal Temple, Kanyakumari also known as Thiruvattar temple.
Throughout Kaliyuga, the present age of divisiveness and hypocrisy, the Brahma Samhita was relatively unknown, until the appearance of Lord Chaitanya, who recovered only Chapter 5 of the entire text. As a result, Chapter 5 is read, studied, and sung ever since. Spiritual initiation ceremonies are often began by chanting the fifth chapter of the Brahma Samhita in unison.
