The newest update 35 patch notes have taken the ESO community by storm, and today we will see on the PTS how bad my builds have been nerfed, and how boring combat has become if this patch goes live. Let's see what happens!

The Okensoul Nerf isn’t even that bad. Deltia ran vet VS on the live server with regular okensoul and non-trial gear in 22 mins he also ran the same exact set up on the PTS with the nerfed Okensoul in 24 mins. He should be posting a KZbin video of that run sometime today.

Not hyped either, don't wanna sound bum out I had a lot of fun trying to break the 90k+ DPS barrier working on technique's etc gave me a reason to play the game knowing it had a learning curve and knowing better players existed, Coming from CSGO it felt very similar with not getting handed everything on a plate. more time you perfected the game the better the result. Sure the changes not gonna change everything but defiantly feels like a step in the wrong direction.

Right? Fellow CSGO player here and the feeling of hitting a counter strafe at the right time to land a deagle shot, getting down your spray pattern, or better yet spray transfer from multiple targets is too good!

I can't get PTS to work i was wondering can you test Orders Wraith 4 piece clothing (light divines with magicka enchant), Deadly Strike (1 arm piece divines magicka enhant) 1 neck 1 ring both blood thirsty with spell damage, Oak ring blood thirsty with spell damage and a Deadly Strike Lightning staff precise with wep damage enchant. Yeah, sorc is not bad in pvp right now just due to the oakensoul, bound armaments, crystal weapon, overload, bow, stamsorc meta build. It's super op. Main reason they nerfed crystal weapon and bound armaments. There's also a few other op magsorc builds too. You must just not be doing something right.

Hot take: the light attack changes and buff duration changes could actually be healthy for the new/midgame players. Its really just the dot and hot changes that makes this update so shit

Don't understand why they changed combat like this. It was fine, it has been tuned over many years and we finally had arrived at a good spot where sets, stats and attributes worked pretty well together. Sure some tweaks here and there might still be needed, but gameplay was fast paced and fun. The active playstyle is what sets ESO apart from all the other MMOs. There was nothing wrong with combat, there are so many other things they could have worked on. How about a difficulty setting for doing overland questing to nerf your character when you want to enjoy some quests? Or buff your character for players who have trouble getting through a quest... (Some people are only there for the stories, not the combat)

Dear Brah i want to share with u some thoughs. Maybe one of them can help in the actual hars enviroment. I shared these thoughs in a hardcore teso reddit group getting great feedback. ___ 1. Is ZoS "killing" TESO slowly? Some people can get surprise about this idea, but all combat nerf uproar the past week, in the old hardcore base looks planned. Many HC and new players are really upset and runaway from TESO silently. 2. Is TESO stagnant on three banner war? The past year many people express this idea: TESO borned dead from the first time. Cyrodill is like Groundhog day: the same day after day, and actually Cyrodiil is a huge problem for TESO developmemt, all dlc are glued to Cyrodiil story posibilities. Endless three banner war must end. We all want to see Imperial City in its WHOLE GLORY again. 3. Is Bethesda silently fading TESO and preparing fan base for a future Starfield mmorpg online? Many people pointed this way. The similarities between Eve Online / No man Sky and Starfield are undeniable.

I'm sorry but most average players cannot solo a VET dungeon. Any player that can solo VET dungeon's is at least a good player. I understand you may not feel like an elite player. But do you think casual players can even solo City of Ash on Normal Mode?

I solo City of Ash on a one bar build and I'm a casual. I'm also not a fantastic player. Just an average I guess ... whatever that is. I don't do guilds or trials and my gear is crafted with a few pieces here and there bought in the store. You don't have to be a great player to do this. All you need is experience in the mechanics and have a build that includes damage and defense. This means dying a lot until you figure things out and of course you won't kill anything at fast speeds. You should try it!

I can solo City of Ash 1 and Spindleclutch 1 with my magsorc. They're the only 2 that I've been able to solo on normal.

@@panthra1115 Try Fungal Grotto 1, Arx Corinium, Elden Hollow 1, Crypt Of Hearts 1, Wayrest 1 ... all of these and more are easier than Spindleclutch. You can definitely do these. You should try it!

City of Ash solo on Normal mode is easy, and it's not really much harder on veteran mode because there are no real mechanics to speak of. Ultimately, it wasn't about the actual dungeon, it was about how much damage has been reduced. Since casual players tend to rely more on light attacks and dots, these changes are going to make them do considerably less damage, which makes all content more tedious. Here we saw 25-33%, but I've seen 40% for less experienced players on PTS.

@@garrick3727 This is absolutely correct! I took my Stamcro to a few dungeons on the PTS and was struggling. Fights were much longer and my resources were strained. Using Stampede and Carve along with Unnerving Boneyard and the occasional Endless Hail, I simply used light attacks as my Dot's whittled them down. This strategy is now out the window. I'm sure I can retool and compensate but I'm not sure I want to go through this again, esp since it will probably change again in another 3 months or so. What's interesting is my Magplar went to the same places on the PTS and did very well. Since I rely on Sweeps instead of Light Attacks the damage fall off was barely noticeable and the "nerf" to Sweeps actually made the rotation easier using 3 beats instead of 4. For me, the Light/Heavy Attack nerf is a game changer and not in a good way. What's worse though is now I have to retool my Chars because of another nerf patch. This constant changing from patch to patch is getting old real fast and to me, that's the real problem with ESO. You simply can't count on a build you've created to work more than a few months at best.

Because top tier players won't really be affected all that much. Everyone is getting nerfed, so they're still going to be the top players. At worst it will make their dungeon/trial runs take more time. The players most affected will be medium-skill players who are currently 1k-10k DPS above the minimum threshold for the content they want to be doing. After the patch they will be under the threshold again and must work harder to regain access to the content they were already doing.
