*Sling* Thank you for doing this! Now I know how to make mine. Apache Sling for a future project idea?

You bet! I tested this guy out with tennis balls yesterday, and the pouch is a bit narrow for such a large projectile (they tend to fall out). But if you did this same sling from 550 paracord, I think it would be very useable for tennis balls and the like. Sure thing, I'll add it to the list! Got a few others coming up first, I think, but an Apache sling would be fun 👍

@@slingmoustachio4990 I noticed that it might be to narrow. I'm going to make a jig where the pouch will be wider at the middle then taper like an Egyptian sling by using nails to spread the cords and holding them in place while braiding the pouch like you did.

@@deltafour1212 That's on my list of things to learn, making a loom style jig for Egyptian style or other traditional woven pouches, as well as tapering a full pouch

I've been thinking about making a sling similar to this bug with a few different methods
@slingmoustachio49902 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to hear that! My tutorials are done the way they are so that someone can follow along if they want, but mostly my goal is to showcase different methods to inspire experimentation and creativity.

I've been watching and looking at slings other people have made and slings made that are found in some places and experimenting with different ways to make the.

Very interesting look on the release cord with the diamond knots. I definitely prefer split pouches but I will soon be making an Egyptian style solid sling following Acroballistic's tutorial. Just finished making about 120 feet of reverse wrap cordage from embroidery thread for just such a sling. Keep up the great work, man!

I definitely have a preference for split pouches too, and I also want to make an Egyptian style sling. Hope to see yours!

I put a vid up of my Egyptian style sling if you wanna check it out! It's actually the first video I put on my channel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKqYiZagorOrl6c

Sling! I wonder if switching to a 6 strand round braid when you have 6 strands would be better than sticking with the 4 strand braid? I'm unsure how the junction between the 4 strand braid and the 6 strand would look, but seems worth a try
@slingmoustachio49902 жыл бұрын
I believe I did a 6 strand round coming out of the pouch on a different tutorial, and it definitely works and has a cleaner look to it. The method I currently know for a 6 strand round is pretty involved and a little tricky which I why I usually shy away from it, but I have some ideas to try. But you're totally right, and I've actually done a tapered cord with a 6/5/4/3 taper and it looked pretty good.

@@slingmoustachio4990 Cool, good idea with tapering through the different braids. I can see how it would be a lot more work though

@@slingmoustachio4990 Until we are blocked from entering on KZbin, I will try to make a video about my slings too. I throw balls more with a sling that resembles a tree leaf in shape. It is better to throw stones with a traditional Bolear sling.
