Love your tutorials! Very easy to follow. I've been unable to find a suitable wire to use. It seems that they're all too stiff. The last one I bought was suppose to be "dead soft" but still, I had trouble smoothing it out. Is there a certain brand that works better than others? Thank you.

I saw a braid that someone use to wrap around a gem stone it looks so beautiful. It looks some what like your braid. I am going to try it and see if it turns out looking the same! I will let you know if it does turn out! If it doesn't turn out I probabley won't say anything. I will send you a picture too if it does. Thank you for showing how to braid wire!

@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
+moma It really depends where you live. The wire I used in this is from www.jewellerymaker.com. but www.wires.co.uk is also a good place for wire, but I don't know if it would work for you regarding shipping as I don't know where you live :-)

Yes, they don't have it available that much anymore other than in kits, so I am also looking for a new wire supplier. I have heard many good things about www.wires.co.uk which is what I will be trying out very soon :-)

Gorgeous as always! I keep trying my hand at wire weaving, but it is a lot more difficult than you make it look! I use 1mm wire as base wire and 0.40mm as wrapping wire, but I keep messing it up so bad, that the wire turns in to scrap metal 😭😭😭 Do you ever mess up like that or are your skills flawless?
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Sandra McCormick Thank you. Hehe, no definitely not. No one's flawless. I make test pieces of some things as well, and they don't all turn out great. Practice certainly helps and finding your own rhythm of wrapping. I don't know what wire you are using but maybe you could try and get hold of a softer wire to practice with for a bit :-)
@sandramccormick83269 жыл бұрын
+CSLdesigns I did figure out what I was doing wrong. I was using a wire that was too soft for the wrapping wire. it didn't just warp out of shape when I tried wrapping, the wrapping wire was marring the base wire. I did a practise 2x2 weave with a harder base wire last night and it came out great! I'll be getting some cheap copper wire for practising and getting like you said, my own rhythm. you are such a good teacher to learn from. your tutorials are perfect, detailed and very easy to follow!
