Sometimes you don't know what to reply to people saying this band never used a guitar. Like, come on, at least go see if there's guitar in other of their songs. Also, Not everyone is like all those "rock gods" often just playing "their instrument". Music is much more diverse than that. And about the men objectification in this song,: well, I haven't seen anyone capable of bringing very credible explanation to their side. It just has been nonsensical bitterness up to now. I'm a gay dude. When I first heard this song, having listened to Braids in the past, I was a little disappointed. It felt almost hypocritical to a small extent. Lines like saying she's going for the numbing kind of man, implying they were a tool to get through your own emotional turmoil, bothered me. I have no idea what any of the comments here were on about. Some guitar thing, I don't really care. But I will say, as a gay man, I often feel like I'm grappling with being objectified, and I can't even say the last time I went on a date where a guy didn't try to do something that I didn't really want, or try to push something that wasn't really the original pitch for the date. It's why I related to some of the past songs. Even with me not being a woman, I understood how men can be objectifying and make you feel like less than what you are. This song kind of soured it for me a bit. I don't know maybe I'm missing something. But I didn't listen to the song much after that to find out.
