I'm a gay dude. When I first heard this song, having listened to Braids in the past, I was a little disappointed. It felt almost hypocritical to a small extent. Lines like saying she's going for the numbing kind of man, implying they were a tool to get through your own emotional turmoil, bothered me. I have no idea what any of the comments here were on about. Some guitar thing, I don't really care. But I will say, as a gay man, I often feel like I'm grappling with being objectified, and I can't even say the last time I went on a date where a guy didn't try to do something that I didn't really want, or try to push something that wasn't really the original pitch for the date. It's why I related to some of the past songs. Even with me not being a woman, I understood how men can be objectifying and make you feel like less than what you are. This song kind of soured it for me a bit. I don't know maybe I'm missing something. But I didn't listen to the song much after that to find out.

Glad to find another Braids fan in the Paris area. I had my ticket for May 2020 (!!!) at pop up du label. Got delayed to Nov 2021. Eventually got cancelled. I was livid. Been hoping for a new date to be announced ever since.

I heard this song on a German radio station while driving. And it hit me right in the heart. I immediately pulled over, shazamed it and found it!! This song has brightened my mood ever since. Thank you very much for that :-)
