Most entertaining & kind of educational vid in ages. I still struggle with understanding & identifying tricks myself. Love to see more of this with better explanations, because that wasn't very scientific.. pretty vague still really. Also, Boss Kyro & Chole were great together. Heaps of fun 😁

They had it right. A video on identifying tricks and their names. I always had trouble identifying tricks but just kept watching new videos with trick names but for beginners seeing the names and the mechanics of these tricks will definitely ground them “like oh ok it’s not as impossible as it looks/ sounds” maybe one day I’ll go for a (whatever trick caught their attention).

Just watched the video. The best way to explain Front-side versus Back-side is on Transition. Are you facing toward the Coping or is your Back toward the Coping. Fun video...sometimes the difference between fakie and switch is tough to tell.

For me, the easiest way to keep FS/BS for rotations straight when I'm skating is to look at the direction of motion of my *back* foot. So the first step is identifying which foot is the back foot. In normal, nollie, and fakie stances, your "back" foot is the same; it's the one towards the tail of the board. For those three stances, your right foot is the "back" foot if you're regular, while it's your left foot if you're goofy. (At first that may seem odd for fakie, but this is what separates fakie from switch.) For switch, the "back" foot is the other one: left for regs, right for goofy. Once you've determined which foot is the "back" foot for that stance, you just look at which way the back foot moves in the rotation. If the back foot moves in front of you (toeside), then the rotation is called frontside. If the back foot moves behind you (heelside), the rotation is called backside.

This was a great video! I think a lot of people have a hard time with frontside/backside and fakie/switch/nollie so probably worth a tutorial tuesday video. Also if you guys wanna hire me as your producer I’ll make sure these games work smoothly! A tip would be to get two small whiteboards have them hide thier answers and show the white boards on the count of 3. You guys are awesome. Ricky was on the right path with something like: did the body spin, board, or both? Did the board flip? Were they going forward or switch. That can help break down a lot of tricks. 30 years into this and there's still debates on what things are called. When I was learning was when tricks had non-descriptive names: boneless, acid-drop, no-comply, madonna, ho-ho. Though one-footed ollies were not yet ollie norths, and 360 flips were not yet TREs.
