Hey Rye. Long-time viewer here. I recently remembered your channel and decided to search it up again. I know this is a tad bit late but I wanted to give some advice considering some of the recent posts you made and the position you and your channel are in. First off the haters and drama stuff and then the channel stuff. I know this comment is pretty (like, super long,) but, I wanna give some feedback and see you prosper, and hopefully I can get my points across and give you some ideas. Don't listen to the assholes man. Don't give them the satisfaction of reacting and getting hurt over what they say, at that point you fall for the bait and they win. While they are being jerks on the internet you on the other hand are actually doing something with your life. Do not let their words affect you, what they say says a lot on them and nothing on you, remember that. Cancel culture has become a lot more prominent over the years, I only know a little of what you did but those who aren't willing to give others chances to improve and grow as people are narrow-minded and judgemental and act as if they haven't once made a mistake and act like creators are perfect human beings. Don't listen to them. If you truly are growing as a person and bettering yourself and you and your fans know that, that's what matters overall. And, I can see you ARE genuine and that you GENUINELY want to be a better person. Keep your head up, and remember, there's more good than bad in the world and a lot of people still really appreciate you. Let the toxic people SAY what they want, but DON'T let them AFFECT you. Now, moving on, I actually aspire to be a KZbinr too, I've been studying KZbin, KZbinrs, etc. Considering it's your job you kinda can't afford to have poor performance. So I wanna give some suggestions on what you could do. I hope none of this is too harsh but here we go: Your views have dropped tremendously, as you've stated. You have to think WHY that is. Put yourself in the viewers' shoes, think of what you'd like to see if you were watching a creator or show you liked, what would entertain you? It goes without saying that the things that have entertained your audience have been FNAF and Gmod. However, it isn't that easy. You might have the mindset "my subscribers subscribed for this reason and this content style so I'm gonna keep doing it!" That does work, but only to a certain extent. You see, you can't keep doing the same thing forever if you wanna maintain results and grow them. Now look over your channel and its videos. You've been doing the same games, the same style of content for 5/6 years now. Every game becomes stale at a point, FNAF and Gmod most certainly aren't an exception. It's been the SAME type of thing for a very long period of time, people start to realize "holy... I've been playing and watching these games for so long now.. maybe I should move onto something else." I'm sure even you've gotten bored and less excited over FNAF and Gmod, I'd be very, VERY surprised if you didn't. That's just completely natural, the magic gets lost over time. I don't know who came up with it, but I once heard an amazing quote. It goes like this: "the worst part about a game is that you can't play it for the 1st time ever again." So... what can you do to counter this? Well, you should branch out. Branch out to other games or maybe even other styles of content. More vlogs or maybe podcasts could be cool perhaps? I see you've done some Gartic Phone, that's really good, as it's a game that's doing well, is easy to get into, and it seems like you enjoy it. You have to be the one to figure out what you wanna do though. Just make sure what your doing not only is able to pull in new viewers, but also makes you happy in the process. Now, there's another very crucial thing I wanna address. As I stated before, I'm a long time viewer of you, and I REDISCOVERED your channel. I ultimately got mostly bored of FNAF and Gmod like most others as well, but something else that is really important is videos standing out. Btw as for the "only half of my viewers watching are subscribed" that's just a pretty standard thing, even with the big KZbinrs. Look at Dream for example. In his intro he literally says "also, only a small percentage of people who watch me are actually subscribed." I wouldn't stress too much about that. However, what you should always keep in mind is that the KZbin landscape, the ALGORITHM is constantly changing, and has changed incredibly from now and 2014/2015. I subscribed to and watched a lot of people years ago, but after a while, I stopped clicking on them in their subboxes. Not only did I get bored of the games, but I got bored of the format too, the titles, thumbnails, and concepts became old and it was like my eyes just ignored the notifications. It's very strange and complex, you can even call it a phenomenon. I'm sure most people that have used KZbin for years and have subscribed to people have had the same experience and feelings. There have been so many people I subscribed to, so many notifications I've received over the years, and they filled my subboxes. But, I only ever clicked on a few notifications. I think you doing some research could really help. Compare videos from years ago, their formats, to videos nowadays, and see how they've changed and how you can change yours for the better as well. For example, I've noticed a good amount of titles are simple and to the point, there aren't really symbols like # / | or anything of the sort, but back then they were a lot more prominent. For some reason the eyes don't usually catch onto that as much, I tend to click on less complex titles in my subbox. Also, something else that is REALLY crucial is keywords. Put proper keywords in your titles and descriptions (not too little, not too many though) this ultimately helps a lot with getting your videos RECOMMENDED to people, for recurring, but mostly new viewers to see. Also make sure your videos can KEEP your viewers, like, they watch the whole thing rather than clicking off after like 2 minutes. Something else I think would be a good idea is opening up a business email in your "about" section. This way people can reach out to you about stuff. Whether it's sponsorships, invitations to something, etc. It just gives more opportunities to get some more income, publicity, collaborations, and anything of the sort. And I guess that's all I wanted to say in that part of the comment. However, there are still a few more things I'd like to say before I'm done here. 1. Remember, the content you do should bring in a new audience, but also be happy with the content you make. Don't force yourself to make content if it makes you unhappy and stresses you out. 2. The KZbin algorithm is constantly changing, I wouldn't say it's you, your character, your personality that's the problem, I think you're a pretty chill guy. It's just the demands aren't really the easiest to keep up with. If they were, people would be able to blow up a lot more easily. You have to stand out and beat the competition! Remember all the things I mentioned, branching out, keywords, etc. 3. It's not about how many videos you upload, it's about how entertaining, capturing, and of quality they are. We can look at creators and channels like MrBeast, Dream, Dude Perfect, etc, for example; who barely upload on their main channels, but have utilized these aspects and as a result are some of the most successful channels on the entire platform. Finally, make sure you're in a healthy mindset. Make sure you're healthy, physically, and emotionally/mentally. You could even take a break if you need, maybe 1-3 months, or longer, recharge the motivation, creativity, and healthiness batteries. You could even research KZbinrs and their stories, as I suggested before, what causes them to blow up and what caused their downfalls as well, and put yourself in that mindset and aspect; so you don't make the same mistakes they did. Put yourself in the viewers' shoes and think of what YOU would want to see and be entertained by. That's all I really wanted to say. I know this was long, but, that doesn't really matter now, does it? As I stated, I wanna see you prosper. And even if you don't wanna do KZbin anymore, that's okay. It's your life and endeavors man, and you've provided us a ton of content over the years, so thanks for all that. I'm looking forward to what you choose to do in the future.
