My journey started being curious on how the brain functions with someone who has disabilities or what it's like now I'm sitting here watching this wondering what I'm gonna do tomorrow morning :0

OK, this long video was good. I could not help wondering each time you said gray matter increased after additional training in reading, if your test subjects were just pour readers that needed additional training or if they were truly dyslexic? I am 45 years old and have The best parents to ever live in this world, and they spent more time and money getting me help reading than anyone I have ever heard of and none of it had any positive effect. I also had some of the cruelest teachers in the world that beat me and punish me severely to try to make me learn to read and this had no positive affect either. I have no concept of left and right and the months of the year have no order in my mind. I do something I call reading but I know it is not the same thing you call reading, mine is like cracking a secret code every time. I was in my 30s before I could read an entire sentence and have it make sense, and I have gotten even better in my 40s, these improvements happened without training

Kudos, Brother. I still suck at Reading. I always feel like a Locomotive on Square Wheels. After all d Clanking & Heaving & Steam coming off d Spout, moved only 4 inches. As usual, got lost with d Mumbo Jumbo after 4 minutes. 😯

Not all help is created equally. Some of us have advanced techniques that truly aid students to acquire reading. You sound like a smart guy. Use the brain you have and know that even the most 'intelligent' people have multiple problems and often did NOT have great parents as you described.

Are you, ME? Everything you say is me . I moved alot 12 different schools. My brain Never had the chance to grow around learning. To much stress always being new student as well being thrown in the middle of lessons without any experience. So I was eventually put into special ed. With the bottom of the barrel teachers. And a mother how felt special now , having a learning disability child. Years later still know as the guy with the learning disability.

I wish someone would let me be a test subject, I could probably be of great use to those who are researching dyslexia!

I use an app called “Power Thesaurus” it will help you find another word that is related to the word you have entered. I once had this problem, entertaining college was not easy. This app helped me tremendously.

if you are dyslexic did you not find this totally insulting? I sure do! I too am dyslexic - high IQ, excellent math, highly creative. I would not trade my creativity for reading speed in a million years.
