My best friend is a doctor he and his 8 doctor friends tried so heard to safe my mom, she was in the ICU for 10 days and the did every possible things to save her. Sir , on Friday 19 april afternoon my grandfather got unconscious, he is 74 years old, After 1 hour he was taken to hospital He has brain stroke , he is moving one hand only and is still unconscious not opening eyes no other movements. My wife, 3years just complained of a seriously strain on her leg and in less than few minutes she had siezure and then passed out for over 30minutes and then later woke up. This was sometimes in November. Since them, we have done couple of MRI and it shows she has an infarct in her brain. The doctor said it is a different kind of stroke that is not as a result of high blood pressure or hypertention etc. And that it's on the nerve or something. We have done all kind of test including Protein C Protein S etc but all came out negative. And she experience seizure intermittently despite the tegretol given to her. What should we do? Is this kind of Surgery possible for her? I am in Nigeria.

It is but not necessarily needed. The brain that didn't receive blood supply got dead and isn't reviving by re starting circulation or removing any clot. We don't even know if there is a large clot. So, would recommend a second neurological opinion and also consider alternate therapies.

My father was in comma after brain stroke but I don't understand why doctors didn't perform all this. They kept giving him blood thinners. They said tht both sides of brain had both new and old clots. So they can only give blood thinners. They performed MRI after 3days as they said tht oxygen is dropping n they can't do MRI like this. Ultimately my father died after struggling for 4 days.

Yes, I tried asking the doctors but they didn't give any clear answer, they only said tht there r old n new clots on both the sides,nd there are high chances of him being paralysed (right side body) though one of them said tht the situation is critical. But clot removing procedure wasnt done, evn the MRI was done after 3 days, and on 4th day he left us, that's why I m not at peace.
