Brain Update: Upcoming Surgery!

Thanks for watching today. I wanted to give you an update on my health/brain, and let you know about my upcoming surgery.
There have been many people who have been an encouragement to me on this platform, and regularly ask about my health. That's why I'm sharing this information. My upcoming surgery is for my ventriculoperitoneal shunt. The current shunt I have isn't working correctly, and part of it need to be replaced. If my surgeon can't fix it, he'll have to replace the entire device. My surgery is scheduled for Friday July 10 in Seattle.
If everything goes according to plan, I should be home in a few days. If my surgeon runs into any complications, or has problems during surgery, I'll be in the hospital for several more days. Right now the hospital stay could be anywhere from 2-6 days depending on what goes on in the operating room.

Awe sweet Rebecca I’m sorry to hear that you need another surgery. I know how you feel with the chronic headache. I don’t know what you’d going through with anything else. Thanks so much. I know you understand the headache pain. I hope you're not dealing with any right now. The extra stress of the pandemic isn't helping the stress level is it? I've got several videos pre-recorded, so there will be content for a while after I have this surgery, and it should give me plenty of time to recover unless something unexpected happens. Oh, dear Rebecca. 💗 Thank you so much for taking the time for this update. I hate to think that you've been under this degree of pre-surgery stress for five weeks. (Not to mention your year-long headache. I can't imagine...) Let's hope that the surgeon has learned from your previous operations, and perhaps has a new approach or technique to help this time. Please know that I will be thinking of you on your test day Wednesday, and particularly on Friday. Oh Sue, thank you so much for your kind words. I am trying to not focus on the worry, but the potential for feeling better after it's all over. It's a stressful time to be dealing with a surgery in general, and the hospital I'm going to isn't allowing any visitors right now. So I'll be by myself, but I'll try and update my community tab as often as possible with how I'm doing. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, and I'll be back as soon as I'm feeling up to it. Dear Rebecca, you’re an amazing human being. God bless you. It’s impossible not to go well and go away. You really deserve it. Instead of just talking about you and your really complicated problem and all you already been through you are pre preparing your family’s life worried about them and not complaining at all or even thinking why me, why do I have to go again on surgery. My gosh you can only be such a heart person. I have been really bad myself trough last years and now I just think oh my god, there’s always a sad story or difficult story than ours and feel so weak now comparing to you. And believe I had a lot... but you’re are really strong altruistic and so brave. I whish you all the health you deserve and will have so that you can finally be happy with your family in peace. :*( ... oh, dear one. I do relate to suffering and it gets so darn tiring. Finding a good doctor is worth everything and in my experience, very hard to do. I really do hope & pray that they find a way to help you, once and for all. Thank God you have a great support system, that is also so critical. All of my family of origin have passed ... it's just me and my husband. We both have health issues which are at best semi-managed, never cured. You appear to be so much braver than I. You'll get through this, I know you will. And I speak of myself only to express ... you're not alone. Please keep us updated. 💛 We'll be here, no matter how long ... no worries about that. Thank you so much. I totally understand the semi managed, never cured. It's not my favorite way to be, but better that, than totally ruined. I do have a wonderful team of physicians, and have so much faith in their ability to care for me, and make the appropriate decisions. This pandemic is the extra stress none of us needed, and it's really made this surgery more stressful than it should be. I've got lots of planning to do, so we can take the entire family away for 5 days. I'll have to grocery shop, and take it all with us, because grocery shopping is extremely limited in Seattle right now. Thankfully my husband and girls are so helpful. They're are just some things I always do myself. I'll be posting updates to the community tab as soon as I'm able, but I have several videos pre-recorded for the week after my surgery.
