My wife went to the hospital BP 240/140 nauseous vomiting neck pain dizzy headache did a CT scan thought they saw blood then said it was from a hair pin... removed it did a 2nd didn't see anything kept her overnight sent her home... 6 days later had horrible headache by the time she made it to the hospital she was unconscious. Sent to a larger hospital underwent emergency surgery. Spent about 12 days in the hospital. Surgeon said another hour she would not have survived. She's home now recovering. After I talked to a few ppl in the hospital and did a little research I can't believe they didn't recognize the symptoms. I'm so thankful she's alive.

At least she got a CT but yeah the amount of people who have had these symptoms missed or misdiagnosed is awful.

My aneurysm burst last August. By calling an ambulance myself, I probably saved my life. Upon arrival at the hospital, I lost consciousness and I do not remember one month at all. I have 6 platinum clips in my head. I have no consequences, a slightly impaired short-term memory, and sometimes I have feelings of anxiety. Thanks for the enlightenment.

This is the best info I've found on ruptured brain anneurysms. Mine happened Sept 1, 2023. I was hospitalized for 6 weeks and am still recovering. 6 months later I still have my feeding tube, double vision, a paralyzed vocal cord (multiple intubations while hospitalized) and range of motion issues in my left arm (most likely from placement during my craniotomy). I consider myself blessed to have survived this. I hope to one day feel normal again, but am so happy to be alive. I thank God for my mom and husband who have cared for me since day one. This is something that can be survived, but it can take a lot of patience and work. God bless anyone going through this, you have my prayers🙏🏻

Thank you for covering other symptoms you can have. I’ve had lots of horrible migraines send me to the ER. But not when I had a ruptured brain aneurysm. I had a terrible cold and gently blew my nose and felt an electric ⚡️ bolt hit the top of my head and travel down my spine. I had been having an extremely stiff and painful neck and that’s about it. I thought maybe I had meningitis. To make a long story short, I called 911 and the doctors quickly diagnosed me and fixed the bleed and aneurysm. And now I’m perfectly fine. 🙏🏼

Thank you so much and I wish everybody the best I just got a clean bill of health after three years three angiograms every year and my coil and my stent off from a bilateral intracranial aneurysms I’m still alive I still have headaches but not as bad as I used to

Thank you for this video. My sibling suffered a ruptured aneurysm in May. This video helped prepare me for her treatment at UCLA. Her team of doctors and nurses were nothing short of amazing. Her treatment involved most of the topics you covered including coiling, hydrocephalus, ventricular drains, vasospasms and shunts. I was able to ask appropriate questions and advocate for her properly. Her recovery was slow and we learned it was due to hydrocephalus. Once the shunt was installed her recovery made a dramatic turn for the better. She was in the ICU for 6 weeks, 2weeks on the general neurological floor. She came home in August. She’s doing great. A walking miracle thanks to amazing medical care.

My aneurysm is at the tip of the basilar arty. About one to two weeks prior to the rupture I was having migraines and my blood pressure’s was 193/43 or so. I stood up and started having a pulse like pounding in my head. With each pulse the pain intensified. I called 911 and was already slipping into a coma. Woke up two weeks later.

My father has brain aneurysm ruptured this oct 21, he fall down because of hemorrhage, we immediately took him to hospital, they found out there is internal bleeding in brain, they wanted to do surgery, coiling treatment but his platelets reduced to only 25k😭, the treatment could be done next day, till then the blood spread all over, now he's unable to move his body. He's alive but totally bed ridden

Similar to my father. My dad spent about 3.5 months in ICU sedated after the surgery he had the vasospasm and another stroke as well because blood wasn't flowing through properly (vasospam) etc. They gave us no hope of him moving. Mum would go In every day and do exercises on his legs and arms while he was sedated. He had right sided paralysis. Over time he started to twitch his toes and we saw this as a sign. Doctors kept neglecting it. He went to rehab and he's now able to walk slowly using both his legs (he started walking 6 months after) don't lose hope Just make sure you always get clarification on everything they say. Don't lose hope. My greatest advice is that you spend time with him in ICU and massage his feet and legs because he can sense you doing that. The main thing is he's alive. I wish him a safe recovery and good luck to you all

I also got infections: lungs, Blood, C-difficile. I was fed through naso-gastric tube. All this happened while I was in coma . I am doing fine now. I lost the left eye field of both eyes. this was in 2021.

This past Friday *September 27tb 2023, my Uncle John died from a burst aneurysm. My confusion is that he was admitted into the hospital the Wed. before he died. He was admitted for flu like symptoms at some point he fell unconscious and (from what the family told me) had the rupture while already unconscious. He lapsed into a coma and was put on life support. My question is, were his symptoms that he had before admitted due to the rupture already happening or could the rupture? There was no complaint of headache before admitted. Thanks

The neurosurgeon inserted an EVD first while the neuro interventionist was driving to the hospital. Having the EVD is wasn’t painful but it was such an annoyance because you’re not allowed to move very much. My aneurysm was fixed with a flow diverter via an angiogram. I woke up in my room cursing at everyone when the doctor was extubating because it was like someone was choking me. I think they knew I was gonna be fine after that 😂.

Hi, I missed the comments section, but I have a question regarding therapy. I have wasn’t told that I needed therapy,but it’s been 2-/2years since I had my Subarachnoid Hemorrhagic, and I ended up doing my own research, and still am to this day. I ended up asking my primary doctor, I never got a returned call from the neuropsychologist, I know now that this was something I absolutely needed and still do. I’m still have some short term memory loss, and I find myself having to search for words often. The question I have at this time is, I’m having terrible anger outbursts, and sometimes I even blackout during, how do I go about getting help for this? My family hasn’t been understanding, they don’t think any of this was caused from the aneurysm.
@loridarlin16 ай бұрын
I too suffer with the same symptoms. I never did out patient therapy either. I went straight back to my high stress job 3 months after my rupture. I’ve been threatened to be fired several times because of anger issues. My rupture was in the front right lobe which fits with all of my side effects. Hang in there and good luck! Nobody understands unless they’ve had a rupture.

I had a rupture out of nowhere in Sep 2022 and knew instantly something was very wrong. I was very sick and my heart was pounding, I called an ambulance and had to wait for a few hours before being seen. They gave me IV fluids and some painkillers and discharged me. The following week is like a fever dream, I called off work and was just so out of it, i got migraine meds from my GP but they work by increasing blood flow so it made my bleed worse 😂 and i ended up with left side weakness, facial droop and unable to communicate properly. I thought it was a medication reaction initially and after a few more days I got a cousin to take me to hospital. After again a wait of several hours (overnight) i got MRI, CT etc and they told me I'd had a stroke. After a day they did another scan and referred it to specialists so I got diagnosed with SAH and transferred to a specialist hospital for embolization. I can't believe how lucky I was to come through all of that with very few adverse effects. I'm glad that you guys are doing this work sharing what to look out for and what's involved.
