Today, challenges that organisations have to solve are 6 times more complex than at around the middle of the 20th century. Companies’ solution to this doesn't seem too simple, either: it’s more and more committees, dashboards, KPIs and endless reports. All this makes organisations 35(!) times more complicated than they were 50 years ago, with the lowest productivity growth rates of the last century in an age when AI, the cloud and other fantastic technological advances would allow us to thrive more than ever before.
What do we do wrong? And what might we do to harness the possibilities today’s tools empower us with and create better living standards for the generations to come? The Managing Director of BCG’s Washington D.C. office Yves Morieux told us all about it at Brain Bar.

Excellent talk about how to avoid complexity and stay simple in our actions. Organizations seem to attack complexity with more complexity, organizational structures grow with no restrictions and unproductive environments emerge and become a norm. Technology is the best ally to reduce complexity, but first, we need to understand and eliminate the huge number of transactions in our daily lives. If you can’t, then concentrate on a point, this will result in faster and more effective collaborators.
