After playing with all the buttons on your shirt, touching everything on the table to feel all the textures, rocking back and forth in front of the nearest light, and then check the table, chair etc don’t rock…. And then go to the toilet and spend like 20mins washing your hands playing with the bubbles and looking at the lights in the mirror, and calculating the frequency of the air freshener spray/wondering why they dont have an automatic sprayer… then finally licking that soy sauce… if you find somewhere that has sugar sachets for tea/coffee as well… that’s a fun play! Salty sweet salty sweet salty sweet…. Until food arrives…

I realise I might be biased but I have to agree with Sean in regards to which order to see barbenheimer. I saw Oppenheimer first because I wanted to go in focused and ready for a long movie, then barbie within 10 minutes after. Barbie really helped me decompress after that long movie and I feel like the juxtaposition of the two made barbies humour land a lot more. That’s my two cents

Tumblr is actually doing fine. The best time in tumblr history is when people left for twitter, because it was mostly the worst of the tumblr users that went to twitter. 35 year old here. As someone who has two narcissistic parents and have had narcissistic exes, abuse has gotten to the point I'm disabled (and have been for years) from the shear constant stress and duress of it. Abuse has some many varying degrees and unless you have the physical and financial capabilities to leave....no amount of 'taking it, fighting for your life, or anything' is going to help. Awareness and healing and being empathetic and curious can help you understand yourself and to survive and hope to get the chance to live you need to face and speak the truth. I'm glad she got free. The more I've been healing my own triggers and trauma (despite have to fight for myself as a person while still being abused by multiple people I'm trapped relying on. Even though I have to take care of my abusers...it's hell. And the more accurate representation of survivors getting out the easier it gets to help free the rest. Thanks for addressing the Hill issue. One hugely overlooked component is just the amount of absurdity the abused are forced to live with, often without no support structure. It's extremely hard to spend your entire life becoming a either what breaks you or a paradox of a human being. I've gotten abused for just existing. Literally the two reasons two of my abusers have given me where one I wasn't pretty and my father told me it was my mere existence. I grew up at 7, filled a role of basically the aware truth telling/ scapegoat/ helper/ proctor...i had to guide myself without any healthy models in an environment actively blaming me for breathing and having to pee. I lost my brother when he was only 3 and tried to protect my mom and sister. All while being well aware my parents were both abusive AND doing they best they could. So I did my best to take it. I did my best to wait for them to deal and heal their own emotions all while having to endure the endless abuse I wasn't allowed to mention, but how could you not? It's wrong. You get treated like an object that's expected to play a magical caregiver role to them, because they are so afraid to face themselves and their own pain they put it all on you. And imagine taking the pain of an entire family and effort and the weight of it all alone it's overwhelming for anyone let alone one panicked and terrified child.
@The_Void_Between
@The_Void_Between Жыл бұрын
And just realized I got triggered, because I don't want to die and continue to keep suffering and I can't escape and being aware of that is terrifying. I've forced myself to always do the best I could, because that's the only realistic expectation. I have trauma responses now with every social interaction. The only verbal communication and connections I have are to people that willing have said both they never will hurt me AND that they want to. It's torture and inhumane to ask that of anyone. Silence is leaving people suffering en masse and there are no safe places or options available to leave. Some people are not survivors or victims they are caught between surviving and drowning. You're not allowed to have boundaries when being abused by narcissists (especially when they control the home or money), but one I made sure to keep was no physical abuse. I kept that promise and boundary and stood up for myself and those I could, because the pain of it breaks and damages you and it didn't have to happen. The suffering didn't have to happen. It was their choice to hurt you. And physically I've never had the luxury of being able to run away so I defended myself whenever someone raised their hand and then I'd get blamed and abused for defending myself too. No one should ever be stuck in these situations no matter what the degree of it. I know what my abusers been through and that was used against me and I still don't hate them, because it's the cycle that's lethal and the inability to break free from it, but they are willing participating in the destruction and suppression and control of other human beings. The more you experience these realities the more uncomfortable it gets and so many people would rather deny it than just fucking feel it. I hope more and more people being abused get and heal to the place they get the chance to be free and get to understand what something healthy or just not abusive can feel like. I hope you get to allow yourself and be granted or have enough energy to build space to just be you. Not have to pretend to be your own mother to have enough strength to survive.

Idk if they did it for top gun, but the military does sponsor a lot of movies, by giving access to planes, helicopters and pilots. They basically noticed how much enlistment shot up after saving private ryan and started helping movies to get more signups. Thats why every transformers movie has some scenes with military meetings, suit up scenes and so on.

So I know this is a bit late but I just listened to this episode today and had to say this about Top Gun. The military doesn't charge very much (if at all) to use military equipment in movies. They just have to approve the script. They also allow actual soldiers to be extras. So that explains the low budget for Maverick.

My first duty station in the military was at Offut AFB, where the hangar that housed the planes that took the bombs to Japan in WWII had been converted into a huge gym. Did PT there every day. They had photographs of the planes and the preparations for the bombs and such in the lobby area. Made me wonder if they were proud of it, or just displaying it to show the history. Probably the latter, but I always felt awkward going in there to workout, knowing the very track I was running on, or the mats I was sparring on, lay on the floor of the hangar that once held those planes.

Y’all never finished watching those TV series because ADHD. You enjoyed it so much you want to give it at least like 60-80% if your brain power to watch it and focus on it, but at any given moment you know you only have like 30% to give, so that’s not good enough for a really good show. So you keep putting it off until you “have time to actually sit down and enjoy it” but you’re always procrastinating something or having to find something to do so you never have that time to dedicate. Then they bought a bag of like 100 of them and distributed them across the school. I believe they got banned after an entire assembly was filled with a cacophony of popping sounds. The funniest part was after they got banned and you would randomly hear a pop from across the cafeteria and watch the staff try and figure out where it came from.

Right around the time Episode 15 of _The Brain Leak Podcast_ was recorded, Seán… Has been both back from L.A., recently returned to L.A. to be featured with Ethan in _Gamer And The Mouth,_ and (according to Evelien) should be back home again on approximately the same day this episode has been uploaded. Jesus Christ, Seán! That’s some literal time travel shit you’re doing, Young Lad! Love to You and Ethan! From Your Incorporeal Podcast Viewer/ Listener: Lesley (RedRhody)! 💚🤗🤗💚

My favorite birthday Florida man for me is “Florida man arrested after throwing glass eye at doctor and nurse” though “Pensacola man arrested for barging into homes seeking someone to fight him” is a close second 😂

the most interesting part about the Florida guy who ate the other guy's face is that the toxicology reports show the only drug in his system at the time was THC. Everyone always says it was PCP or bath salts, but the guy was just genuinely insane.
