@@neowuwei7851 If they really have a "forget-me-now" drug that they dose the water with, maybe it wasn't really 140 years and someone just suggested it was so the rest went along with it. All their books and hard drives are gone so how would they know. I think that's the hang-up with not wanting anyone to see "relics" that might spark a memory.

The coded letter reveals that only one silo will survive and it’s highly unlikely or altogether impossible that it will be silo 18. This information would likely drive someone to drink their life away and then suddenly have purpose again when confronted with evidence that they *could* actually go outside. That’s her only request because she knows that *it won’t happen otherwise*. That’s my opinion.

Meadows was always far too wise for someone who learned everything as Barnard's shadow. Neither of them know everything about the overall purpose of the silos, but my theory is that Meadows may have come from another silo (possibly silo 17, maybe 25 years ago?). The coded letter might be information about what happened in yet another silo. I'm guessing most of the silos have succumbed to similar problems with repeated cycles of surpressing citizens and cyclical rebellions. That knowledge makes everything that keeps the silos running seem futile. Hence the drinking. The only change that is likely to break the cycle is the possibility of life on the surface.

Enjoyed this episode. Does feel a bit slower at this point than last season but I expected it with Juliet in Silo 17. Sims and Billings arch’s are taking off and their wives adding some dynamics I didn’t see coming. Noticing parallels between Solo and Bernard in some way.

The show is just too slow,at this rate Juliette won't be able to manufacture a suit until the finale,and the last cliffhanger scene would be her appearing on the hill outside the silo with the silo people fighting inside but they see her and they stop.

sounds like a decent cliffhanger but tunnel is most likely connecting to another silo to the side(17 to 18) I think she might go for that tunnel instead, probably her suit will fail or people from mechanical might use that tunnel(convenient for them to go there) after knowing that from Patrick or Lukas

Exactly. They keep us waiting an entire week to see her find a solution but still lack something. And they deliberately make her stupid like when she tore her suit, even I knew she should have kept it safe. The directors keep lagging the story and trying to stretch it.

Tbh I think this too. Buildup through a whole season only to get a cliffhanger in the end. That is lame writing and somewhat disrespectful to the viewers. But I hope this won't happen and the pace will increased to get a real conclusion or at least a satisfactory ending.

I think this season is slow because we already expect that Juliette will be able to get back to her Silo. If only she came back now, there wouldn't be interesting story to tell for the rest of the remaining episodes.

Nah, I think Solo is sheriff's son who bruteforced the parol to a server room door and killed original Solo the shadow of IT which was there and stole hos identity.

@@tiffypressstart2157 yes the judge is a figure head who will be killed if they try and have any independence. They also have to be “impartial” so they can’t see the evidence/ cameras. He basically went from badass #2 in the silo to number 50

It is just odd to give the fall guy department so much negotiation power. Them being down there also means that they can barricade themselves while they can shut down power to anyone but them.

Because Mechanical are actually most competent, smart and knowledgable about how stuff works. They need to be on a short leash. Knowledge is being curtailed by IT.

I was wondering why Dr. Nichols didn't stitch Juliet up before she left (when I watched last season). Up until now her injury wasn't a problem so I assumed they would just gloss over it and she healed. So I guess "Solo" will have to give her meds and/or burn the wound.

It’s crazy Bernard had someone who wanted to go out (judge meadows) and instead of letting her go out and cutting a small hole in her suit and letting everyone in the Silo watch her die for a “reset”. Bernard kills meadows and frames two innocent people to send them outside to die. It’s so convoluted it deserves to fail. I thought Bernard was going to send someone else out because he loved Meadows but he killed her anyway so now none of these decisions really makes sense imo.

I mean from solos POV why would he care if he named himself that yk, maybe the head of the IT (the dad) didn’t hang around his kid at all so solo named himself the shadow of his dad bc they two were close

@@remuslupin1566doesn’t say. But when they were in the class room he reminisces on a girl that he sat next to at the time of the rebellion. Meaning he would have been around 11 or 12. Couple that with his childlike mannerisms it’s not far off to say that he could have been the child of the head of IT. He knows the code to the safe and has a weird sense of duty beyond just needing it to survive. As if he grew up watching someone have these same values.

Solo will take Julie back to the vault and when she regains consciousness while in there she will start looking around the vault where she will find more answers and how to fight Bernard. This is just my theory based on how the story is shaping up.

Regarding the pace of the show, I'm wondering how long it's been since Juliette left her silo. It seems like things are happening very quickly in the silo, but kind of slow in the show. For example, the character spent only one day in the mine? Really? And he was able to repair a busted hard drive in minutes? I'm still enjoying it though.

How could Lukas Kyle be in the mines for a day, and then get dragged back up in such short time. Its 5km of Silo stairs to walk. That would take days... Its GOT level location switching. Besides that good episode.

Maybe the mines aren't down that far, but out to the side. Remember what Lukas showed Bernard of the map of the silo? There were two things going off from the silo about half way between top and bottom, then at the bottom that tunnel or whatever it is.

I’m not so convinced that Solo and Juliette are the only ones in that Silo. I can’t shake those POV shots we got of Juliette scavenging materials to construct her bridge, then the matter of her rope being cut when she tried to swing across. It wasn’t Solo because at that time he was behind the vault so I think somebody else is hiding in there. Or maybe the silos really do connect to each other someway and that person is from yet another silo just like Juliette 🤷🏽‍♂️

This is the second part of the first book. You don’t find out anything as to why or how until book 2. So far it’s very much like book 1, slow at times with lots of world building. The end of this season should handle one problem while creating a huge mess.

I hope that Juliette makes it back to 18 with a warning to everyone about IT and how they could end up like 17, everyone dead except 1 survivor. They have to adapt and give up the Compact and come up with something new. They could salvage lots of stuff from 17 and the go on to contact the other silos. I bet at least 50% of them look like 17 now.

Wasn't the pact supposed to be the "something new" after the first rebellion? And - question: where are the bodies of the people that they would have sent out after that rebellion? They didn't make it outside, but they definitely would have been sent out to "clean". There are only a few bodies out there and no skeletons like the next silo.

@@ellen4956 sounds like they've had rebellions every generation in the Silo with all the names on that wall. Not sure when the Compact was drawn up and good questions about the lack of bodies outside the Silo if that was so. Maybe those bodies were put in the recyclers and made into soylent green?

The entire cast is excellent except for the actor who plays Simms. He’s not an actor. He tries his best but he simply can’t act. He was an obvious gift to someone and he just spoils the show whenever he’s in scene.

Yawn, another terrible episode nothing happened apart from deck chair reorganising. More characters doing dumb stuff that makes no sense and only serves the purpose of making drama. Season 1 was a good story with the occasional ridiculous drama. Season 2 is all ridiculous drama with no story.
