Read the books. Only problem I had was how they destroyed the world. Yes, nukes can do a crap load of damage, but there would bound to be some survivors. And then there is the nuclear winter and fallout. We are lead to believe in the first book and season 1 that there is no habitatal areas left outside, but we know that's a lie by book 3.
@Sunshinefaced8 күн бұрын
I added a comment above but… from my understanding the nukes only destroyed Atlanta and surrounding. Thurman used the nano bots “before anyone else could” to kill everyone. Some survivors had nano bots that would keep them alive (partly bc they didn’t go to Atlanta).

Spoiler warning! It will be interesting to see how the show builds on the rest of the books’ major plot lines. Juliet seems to have got on to the idea of going back a lot sooner here than she did in books, when does she get to drain the water in silo 17? Who replaces Lucas? Does Bernard meet the same ending?
@jonfreeman96826 күн бұрын
The show has mostly stayed faithful to the book but there could be plot twists. Bernard will meet the same fate in later seasons as he's the chief villain. She will make it back to the silo and reveal the truth. What's really cool is she will stop the rebellion that she herself started.
@wmla316 күн бұрын
@ yea the little plot twists and changes are fun, gives a little mystery for those who know the story. Remember the real rebellion is the one against the silo creators, looking fwd to see how that plays out on the show.

Book SPOILER ALERT: From reading the books I gather that only Atlanta (and whatever the blast radius) was destroyed with nukes. Otherwise, all the nano bots that were everywhere already were just turned on by Thurman and Co. if you read the last book, a bunch of people out west survive because they chose NOT to go to Atlanta and enter the silos but they had the “right” nano bots that wouldn’t get them killed. All the people approved to go into silos also had the right nano bots. There’s also mention that Juliette survives almost drowning in silo 17 because of the nano bots she got either outside or in silo 17. Just sayin’ it’s not determined that “the world was destroyed by nukes.”

Also, I knew the stairs in all other silos was intended to hinder.However, I had not considered that the lift in silo 1 would also be limiting. Interesting-Thank you!

Nor likely where any nanobot the thing that ended it, much more likely is chemicals/air-borne chemicals that can end life, the nukes could simply have been a cover, "more radiation than before", and "the fallout is why so many started to become sick just after the bombs" (etc etc)

fallout games are not just games, much reality in them. Those bunkers underground really exists and nobody knows when they are built. This place goes under periodic cataclysms and those on the top know that very well.

How did the nano bots let the humans create 50 Silo's the size of a building if they were our enemy? Sure it takes years to make one let alone 50
@Kelmire19 күн бұрын
Nano machines were not the enemy. They were government tech until terrorists got their hands on it, using them to spread diseases and deadly pathogens. The silo architects knew this would lead to a nightmare world of weaponized nano machines, so the world was still f9ne, but the threat of terrorists using nano machines was growing. Instead of combating the threat in a creative way, they decided to nuke the whole world and start again. In other words,the silo builders are complete psychopaths.

@jroygbiv9 күн бұрын
The show is based off a book called Wool (book 1) and not too dissimilar to Fallout but quite different. It has much more serious overtones than Fallout and more 'realistic'. But i guess Fallout came first and has a bigger lore than Silo/Wool series. I'm sure the author was influenced by Fallout, or at least influenced by the same concept of bunker/nuclear fears that Fallout is based on.

The books were first. Here is a great example of people not know things and why the country is in the state we are in. Read a book please once in a while or find out fact instead of being ignorant

@@ryuko275 The first Silo book was published in 2011. The first Fallout game came out in 1997. Even the 2 best known and culturally relevant Fallout games, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas came out in 2008 and 2010 respectively. So overall, the Fallout game series predates the Silo book series by 14 years and the 2 very popular Fallout games predate the books by 3 and 1 years respectively. I'm fascinated by people like you who are so unpleasantly arrogant about things they are completely ignorant about. Have you ever heard about the Dunning-Kruger Effect. It's a cognitive bias in which people with limited knowledge or competence will tend to overestimate their knowledge or competency and rate it higher than actual experts. Because when you really know stuff you are able to realise the extent of what you do not know. But ignorance is bliss, too ignorant to even know you are ignorant must be a really comfortable way to live. I never even played Fallout, not my cup of tea. I just know when the book came out.
