It was heartbreaking to see when George was getting his 'treatment/torture' from the mad doctor. His POV made me feel sad and admire him, and i love that they did that because it shows he is also willing to anything to be his best in front of Charlotte.

Charlotte showed a great deal of strength and compassion in that moment when she saw the so called treatments in progress. She was torn between wanting to help George and string up the doctor. She helped George first then dealt with doctor.

I actually loved this so much. S1 was more so about the passionate love of simon and daphne. S2 was about the almost forbidden and unspoken love between kate and anthony. This story is more so about love that grows into an enduring one. I absolutely loved it. Their love was exquisite, and they are deeply in love even till now

It was good to see King George had periods of happiness even though he struggled all his life. And then to make it worse you had that doctor torturing him. I felt so bad for him especially after that doctors quack therapy. I hoped when the Queen found out what he was doing she was going to have him beheaded on the spot. I was so rooting Charoltte to find out what he was doing. I think Charlotte was the kind of queen that he needed someone who is strong and will not tolerate BS

not to throw salt in the wound here. I just ended the show and man that transition from them dancing to just him...instant tears. I think the dancing in the distnace and the song choice continuing after the interruption told us all we needed to know: their love persevered despite the fact that society would never allow them to and they at least had a long time together. Gah, the onions. I think what also hurt me was the fact that Charlotte asked Brimsley if he ever had a family after knowing him for DECADES...😓

This story really helped make the older queen Charlotte more likeable and understandable for why she is the way she is. You don’t become the current queen without going through a few battles in life after all. The younger version definitely played the role well. She played a very young royal pushed into the role and has in her head all the things she was suppose to do in this role. The naivety in the beginning was perfect. She changed as time went on during the series and you see her becoming hardened more and have the assertiveness she currently has.

When she was fuming and told the doctor and everyone around, that if he's a mad king then so be it, she only cares for his happiness and his soul... can't remember the whole quote but thats the gist. This was a lot sadder than I thought. I thought the king had dementia which showed up later in life but it is insanity all his life so much of their time together was sad, interspersed with happiness. The part that was ironic is that she thought he was a beast or a troll and she said she doesn't care she just wants to know. She lived by that principle because he kept her in the dark about his mental illness. But once she knew she didn't shy away she stood with him.

One of the things that made this lovestory different from the others was that the male characters eventually go through the arc where they change because of love the Duke realized that he is worthy of love despite his imperfections, and Anthony found someone who made him believe in love. But this is an enduring kind of love because unlike the dukes speech impediment this can't be changed. Charlotte loved him warts and all and the warts are never going to disappear. This is the lovestory that was really the foundation for everything. This is the most potent kind of love because the flaws are immutable. It makes you realize what an amazing woman this queen was and she was only 17 years old and the burden that she took on at an early age. And it was so sad when Brimsley told Charlotte that her daughters can't leave because their mother was frozen in time. But the irony is that end scene showed us she was not frozen in time. She had an extraordinary love and I don't think anyone but Brimsley realize that.
@iva1993ful
@iva1993ful Жыл бұрын
you forgot the “forever waiting” part. i think what brimsley tried to say is that the queen is forever having hope that her husband is getting better - hence the forever waiting. and frozen imho is more about how she cannot easily move on, because it’s not death as what brimsley said as well. Her waiting, hopefulness make her as if she is frozen

In real life. Charlotte and George really were in love, but his mental illnesses didn’t really show up until the 1780s. Historians say they shared almost 25 years of happiness and love before his mind started to deteriorate. The breaking of his mind in turn broke Charlotte as well, and she was never the same but cared for him until they died.

King George never took a mistress, which by royal standards is the definitive proof of love and decades into their marriage he was known to surprise her with kisses and tell others she was not just his wife but also the best friend any man could ever have, so it definitely seems true to life that they really loved each other.

Tbh I found young Violet pretty useless. Like not only doesnt it make sense pf her already existing as a teen when according to the books she was not even born yet when this show is set. LIke they could have just given her some older siblings and the father still could have had this cute tradition. It was also kinda much that Lady Danbury not only had an affair with her friends father back then but that she also already knew Violet personally when it happened. Also kinda sad that we didn´t saw anything of Charlottes and Georges daughter Amelia or sth around the time of her death since her death, at least according to the Bridgerton show and real history, was implied to be the final straw of George going completely insane.
@somethingawesome1311

also what makes no sense is that in present day the queen's daughters are supposed to be too old to make children even though according to the show's timeline they should be around the same age as Anthony or even younger (since Violet got married at 18 so about a year after george iv was born). unless its assumed that at 30 you cant have children anymore lol. WAIT so that also means that since charlotte and george had 15 children if we assume that they had one a year their youngest would be at most 15. none of these people look 15 lol but if we mix show and history facts the oldest daughter should be around 28, the oldest son 32 and the youngest(alive) child 17. aaand i became one of those people that overanalyze a show in a random yt comment section minutes after crying watching the ending of the show. yay

I dont think what Lady Danbury did was right, its totally wrong. However, i feel for her character so much. Enduring being married and used for breeding by an old man she clearly was just tolerating. Being groomed for said man at a young age. It was the first time she felt alive... her own words. And also as it seems, she just let loose 1 time. Personally, i dont think its right but no ones perfect. Doing it once means she just wants to be alive. But they never did it again so i dont think its fair to call it an affair as affair is a repeated choice isnt it? So i would rather call it a mistake and a moment of weakness. Still it was wrong but emotions are hard to control. I really love this story. It showcase so much realistic love and relationships that everyone can relate.

I like this season but at the same time Charlotte was basically duped into marrying a 'mad' man. I feel bad for her. And they barely spent any time together how did they fall in love? With season 1 we saw Daphne and Simon hang out at the balls and become friends and season 2 Anthony and Kate spent the whole season bickering but falling in love. This season they had one chat, get married he dissappears, appears after a while, they angry f*ck a bunch of times and then suddenly they are in love? Made no sense. There was no slow burn, no longing glances across rooms, hesitant hand touching. I wish there were more scenes of them just getting to know each other.

I think the point of this season is different than the ones before where love was more passionate, longing and painful. I feel like this season is more about love as a choice and sticking through that choice no matter how difficult. Although I agree that there should have been more scenes building on love and how they came to love each other but this is another type of love where you choose to love someone especially their flaws, they knew each other through their actions, how they protect each other, how they saw each other when they were most vulnerable and choosing to love each other through hardships and through these flaws. It’s a more old fashioned type of love but I think that’s the beauty of it

The problem is this is not real. You people take this as if this is fact . These people are just doing their job , pretending to be someone else. I don't get way you take this so seriously.

Is it just me or someone else hated Lady Danbury for having an affair with Violet father!!! Like just why make me feel disgusted with her character!!!

I didn’t see it like that! I felt like both Lord Ledger and Lady Danbury were at their happiest when they were together but they weren’t able to be

I can't agree more. It's ok to show even after the death of the partner you can have fun. But wth is wrong with the writers to give Lady Danbury an affair with the father of her bestfriend violet. That's not just weird but also gross. Besides it would have been great to see a friendship between the two...but NOO a female and a male person can't be friends, but only sex partners...

@@BrainPilot ew! So now we normalize affairs and cheating??? And of all the men she could fu** she chose a man whose married and have a daughter?? And him how disgusting can he and her be looking at each other with longing and jealousy I literally wanted to puke and slap them both! Don’t speak about happiness in these situations it’s disgusting

@@thuyvinguyen1254 no I think it was beautiful, Lady Danbury deserved to experience a good, blooming garden ;) And Lady Danbury barely knew Violet back then.

@@BrainPilot Though, I can not seem to understand whether or not Lord Ledger had a wife. It seemed his spouse was beside him as the mother of Violet. But when Lady Danbury explained she did not miss her late husband, Lord Ledger agreed and sort of said he felt the same. That made me think he was a widow as well. ??!!

they should make season 2 of this spin-off where george is facing american independence and other dramas ! juggling between state affairs and his episodes. it would make a much better series than the original bridgerton !!! ❤

Pure fiction, no chance this would have happened 1 or two hundred years ago 😂, nevertheless people seem to enjoy the story.

Yes it is fiction. Just like Little Mermaid, Star Wars. The Last Mohican, or Bonnie & Clyde. Everyone knows this- Unless of course YOU you believe that everything you see on TV is real! If so, you may have a ummm... unique outlook on reality and fantasy.
