Bad Chad bringing back alot of good memories for me in my Uncles Body & Automotive shop spent a many of years in the shop learning the processes and building hot rod, classic restoration, fixing wrecks and painting cars. I chose to serve my Country for 12 years and was medically discharged and when I got out did it for a couple more years with him and he retired and my body couldn't handle it every day so he shut the business down and moved alot of the shop to his house in his big garages and we mess with different projects every now and then neither of us are capable of doing what we use to do now it takes alot longer but we still do stuff together every now and then. Chad love the Channel you motivate me to go do stuff every now and then keep up the great work you have one of the most creative minds in the business.

Excellent tape work! Great technique trick Chad! I like the way you not only talk about the technique, but the mindset. For example; Patience when you’re doing that bit. And the analogy of the car tearing @$$ and ending up side by side at the next stop light! The power of positivity. Thanks Chad!

When I first saw Jack in the video at 18:16, I thought that he was a mannequin, to scare off night visitors. It would have worked as he looked to be a big scary character. I’m glad that you introduced him later and told us that he is actually a friendly giant who loves giving Fina dog treats. Love Jolene’s videos and the wonderful characters in them. I loved the bull session from the previous night. Keep up the entertainment and instilling us with your good work and knowledge from both of you.

To make the tape line less noticeable. You mask and tape close to the paint line then use a final blue vinyl fine line on the sanded paint line. After you paint the top black take the blue vinyl fine line tape off right away to soften the paint line

I am working on a 1950 Studebaker pickup and a 1952 Studebaker Champion. Not really a Studebaker collector but I found two very solid classics that needed a full restoration. The 52 just needs paint and it will be finished back to original. The pickup will be a resto mod in about 6 months.

thanks for all the content guys, you need a day or two off. With the car ideas, make the MGA into a Canadian Cobra, small block engine, widen the guards a bit. the black '36, channel the body a few inches and take a couple of inches out of the top, no hood or guards and a different grille up front. THe mk9 Jag, leave the roofline as is, the have sweet lines and look like they have a subtle chop from the factory, lower it, wheel covers on the back and place a V8 in it. Put the green fins on the TR7 :) Cheers, from Australia

The 36' Four-door shortened into a two-door would look better than the actual two-door because of the four-doors small side windows look better anyways. The rear panels behind the doors on the two-doors always look too big, but even if you shorten them they still don't look as good as a shortened four-door. Those small rear side windows is what makes them look so good when converted to a two-door!

OLD CHEVYS HAVE WOOD FRAMING. You would change it to metal. I have found nothing on U-tube that will go there. With 25 cars built before 1950, I have stayed away from those with wood. Except for a 1938 Packard Hearse. The body was built by Henney who still used wood. The lower A & C pillars (no B pillars) show much rot as does lower doors. I, and others, would appreciate some indept schooling on how to change the wood to metal in the pillars and door. Thanks for your consideration.

Tip from a body man. That's not how you tape a line. You stick the tape end on one end of the line...then you keep the tape OFF of the body and pull out about 8 or ten feet off the roll . Then , you bring the roll close to the side of the car at the other end and slowly LAY the tape against the body raising or lowering the roll gently to position it exactly on the line you want. You lay it on the line from the furthest point and gradually coming toward the point you want to end. If you don't do it this way you will have an uneven line swooping slightly higher and slightly lower in places. Once the tape is on the line you want , you gently and lightly press it on to the body, and after a complete pass , you can press it down more firmly . Tape will stretch, that's how you can make a nice line even on graduated curves and lines. Use the same method for applying pin stripe tape .
