Interesting! Really helpful, you just broke it down to see whats exactly happening there... Thanks Eli

Awesome Tutorial as always Eli. Thank you for your clear to understand, short & to the point style that sets you apart from all the johnny come lately engineers who pale in comparison. I started using the Amek Mastering Compressor plugin from Brainworx today and needed info on TMT, which I totally understand now thanks to you. Great Job my friend

Thanks so much. I've done this with the Slate Virtual Channel and TMT. Other than some tiny bass changes it's negligible in my estimation

Very interesting. Thank you for the video Eli. Obviously very subtle from the changes when you are mixing. But guess the idea is that like an analog console each channel strips will never be identical to each channel because of the engineering of an analog console and its parts.

A mixer, working on a console, will never randomly plug the kick drum into a different channel. They tend to use the same channels for the same instruments.

Tip:Inspite of having a ''go-back button'', you can use the A/B button to store your prefered ''random TMT'' and swith back👌🏾👌🏾

this is brilliant work. since these channels are mapped out of a real Neve console, wouldn't they always sound the same? channel 1 always sound like channel 1, etc. so you could theoretically go back to a random setup you liked manually if you just write down the sequence?

Yes, you could definitely write down the combination of channels you like and then when used, will sound the same every time.

@@elikrantzberg Definetely an analog workflow then, haha. Thanks for answering, loved the video Eli!

So, in some instances phase switch did not null, but how does this prove the plug is adding analog sonic characteristics, rather then just more signal ?
@MonsieurVersatile2 жыл бұрын
Yes very interesting. I have a couple of these and have discovered that, as far as I can see, unless you actually turn some eq knobs, the sound goes through the consoles unaffected, with no additional harmonics/distortion generated, even if you use the compressors, gate and/or filters. The THD control only operates if there are main eq changes, otherwise the signal is totally clean. I was very surprised at this as I assumed being console models some harmonics would be generated just by driving the input, for example. I have the Neve and Amek ones and both behave identically. I would love to see your take on this aspect of the PA channel strips too.

Good example of null testing..
