Thanks Chris. Suggestion. Elsewhere on your new Forum there is a suggestion to also check the brake light and cruise controls adjustment to ensure the pedal adjustment did not cause the brake light to remain on constantly. Perhaps an update at some point to address this potential. As usual well done.

Thanks for another outstanding, easily digestible video, @cruisemansgarage. After installing Goldstrike floorboards two days ago, sure enough just like you mentioned, my lever sat flush with the board and needed adjusting. I thought it'd be way more involved (I also have a 2023 Road King and had to do lower that lever), but you made it easy peasy! 👏

Thanks for the nifty video, Chris. The first thing I generally do on every motorcycle I’ve owned is to lower the rear brake pedal. I do this to lesson the sensitivity of my application of the rear brake. In a panic or very quick stop there is less likely a chance of an initially locking the rear brake. This causes a loss of stopping power, particularly if your foot is resting on top of the pedal as you ride. It should require a slight “reach”. The ABS and linked braking system of the Wing has lessened the need for this. I still lowered the brake pedal about 3/8”. Cheers!

The video only deals with half the job. Once you adjust the pedal, it is highly likely you will also need to adjust the brake light actuator switch. To all, please keep that in mind. If you don't one of two things 'could' happen; (1) the brake light will be on continually or (2) the light will not activate when the pedal is pushed.

Great info. I did not know this. Is there a similar adjustment for the shifter lever?

I presume that when you say to turn it to the left, you mean counterclockwise (or anti-clockwise for the English).

Yes. I added that to text on the screen to clarify.

Hey there! I recently purchased a 2018 Goldwing with the manual transmission. I have search everywhere trying to find information on raising the shift pedal. As it is now, I have to contort my foot up under the pedal to shift. I would like to be able to raise the pedal up slightly to make it easier to get my foot under. I know you have the DCT model but thought just a chance you may know how to do this. I appreciate any input or advice. Thanks so much. Tommye

You might check out Max McAllister's channel at Traxxion Dynamics, I think he may have addressed this in one of his videos. kzbin.info

Cruiseman, was it hard or strange to get used to the skinner windshield?

It was. That's why I went with the wider F4+4 aftermarket shield.

I feel that the rear brake on my '19 Tour DCT isn't as strong as it should be. Front brakes are incredibly strong. Is there a way to adjust the rear brake for better stopping power?

Do you recommend floor boards?

Never used them. So, can't say one way or the other.
