This happened to me with a 1989 Porsche 928S4 that sat for 7 years. On this car, brake fluid need to be flushed every couple years. When the car heats up, the rear brakes wouldn't necessarily lock up, but there was friction. The pedal would lose pressure and hit the floor. Replacing the master cylinder fixed it.

My 2002 escalade 6.0 v8 does the same thing. I've replaced my Master cylinder, brake booster, calipers, and had both the ABS pump/module rebuilt.

2019 Silverado lt .This happened to me luckily driving only 40 mph . Extremely dangerous ! . Truck is in the dealer, they said it needs an update so Hope it is the solution

Just watched Eric O. with a 2019 Silverado with a plethora of issues. There was a GROUND STRAP in the right front wheel well that was completely rotted, causing all the issues.

Replace the speed sensors in the rear wheels. Change brake fluid also.

I'm having the same issue on my 2010 2500 HD. Traction control light comes on as well as the service trailer brakes. Would that be the same issue?

@kodasgotgame I would definitely see if the module is up to date on calibration. But that trailer brake relay is a high failure part, definitely would check that out

Have a 2005 avalanche that both front breaks will tighten while driving. Wont release until i open the bleeder. Replaced calibers, flex hoses and break fluid. The only thing that worked was pulling my abs fuse. It worked for a couple of months but now its happened again and i had to pull over and open the bleeder valve for a sec. Whats the problem?

Could be the ABS modulator, ofcourse it would have to be confirmed. Also an overfilled brake fluid resv. will do this aswell.

@@nzdiagnostics2010 does pulling the abs fuse bypass the abs module? Or with the fuse out could something in the module still be causing the problem?

I have noticed my 2022 Sierra 3500, that the drivers safety systems, often miscalculate safe stopping distances and throttle usages when experiencing down hill and uphill situations. Spoken with engineers a few times about it. Since it was flagged in the mygmc and made reports about it. Its more critical of this near areas like stops, or pedestrian crosswalks. Let me give you an example. There is a crosswalk less than a half might from the local highway. This section of road crosses a slew and briefly will come up as an altitude below sea level. Right where the cross walk sits is a transisition of below sea level, to above sea level. If you have a vehicle in front of you in any way, on coming opposite lane, 150' in front in lane. This system will trigger a red flash warning via the hud, and present an unsafe condition/critical alert. If you give the vehicle any throttle at all, even if you are climbing at the lowest speed and still a safe follow distance. Interesting software bug, thankfully hasn't caused an accident. But its easy to replicate and the data around it is interesting too.

2018 chevy traverse 60000 miles driving on highway brakes locked up almost got into an accident . no recall info and no notice from dealer about computer update. very dangerous. how to I proceed with dealer without them telling me i need to change every darn item in braking system?? thanks for your help.

You can ask the dealer if they have an EBCM update available.

hi, this is what happens to my 2004 g35 coupe but it only happens when going to curbs specially on ramps that need to do some hard turns, I replace my whole brake assembly rotors, calipers, hoses, brake pads cause I thought the problem but still doing it, are you in California? do u work on Infiniti or Nissan? thank you

My akebono big brakes (front) of Q50 locked up. They tried to say it was calipers but both are brand new with low mileage and gentle driving. IDK..I guess I'm very luck, but fault codes indicate low voltage abs module

@@ljwade28 Nissan couldn't pin point the issue. I received a low voltage abs module at first shop (before towing it to Nissan as the first tire shop finally ruled out calipers.) At certain times it would be both front locked up simultaneously with no release... and after bleeding it might be just driver side first.. and then passenger side front locking up. They were able to bleed from the master cylinder ports and this opened the pistons on the front successfully. Nissan scanned the diagnostics, but no codes present as the first shop cleared them 😖. They speculated that the new calipers that were powder coated had something to do with it... but it was a "probably seized". I find it very unlikely both calipers seized due to PC based on the condition they are in and I've run for 2 years now with less than 10k miles and DD only. They reset the ABS system and went ahead and had them replace all the calipers because I wanted to rule the problem out. Needless to say I've driven over 150 miles with no lock up. I don't know but after inspecting the calipers that came off they look perfectly fine no obstruction in the piston bore or anything that would appear like they would stick. The pistons have fully retracted and bleed just fine. I wouldn't be surprised if it were the master cylinder or faulty abs module, but for now no codes or braking issues thankfully.

I know what it is.. not what cause is and dealer is closed today. It happens when truck downshifts to climb a hill or passing gear. Imagine those of you who know how to drive manual trans cars. Imagine going from 4th ton1st instead of 5th .... yep that's what it is doing when I hit the gas climbing a hill. Downshift then skid to slow down ... I thought it was brakes but it did it 2 times yesterday on same hill....

@@YouKnowanth turns out the dealer said there is a service bulletin out. The valve body needs switched out. Gm won't do a recall even though it isn't anything to do with me but their engineering. But yet I ha e to donwithout my teucknand pay to have it fixed under extended warrenty...

My 2021 silverado just did this today on the way to work. Stsrted to accelerate to pass someone and brakes kicked in tires squeeled and everything. Happened to fast and sudden for me to even acknowledge any dash lights that may have popped up. First time it has ever happened

@elmeradams8781 yes... turn out there is a service bulletin. What was causing it was when my truck is in overdrive and cruising it rode fine. But if I hit the gas to pass someone or climb a hill and the truck kicked out of overdrive to drop a gear it was dropping into low so truck would skid to slow down. Very dangerous on freeway of someone is behind you. Turns out the valve body needed replaced and GM knows about it
