The lady ghost is Yakshi which is an integral part of Kerala Folk tales so it's enhanced the story line.Moreover she is the reason why Arjun ran into that house which was a trap. Sidharth didn't know where the key was so he couldn't escape. Later Arjun knew it. Ghost knew about their plot but lost the key unexpectedly. The two people who came out of the house were not the same. Don't want to give a spoiler so can't tell here. Hope your doubts got cleared now.

@@Zer0-0 the real landlord/owner ( Thampuran) was imprisoned in that southern part of the room by Chathan and Chathan was in appearance. He died eventually and that's when the cook shows his corpse to the other guy.

We should avoid this movie if it is like Boothakalam! thanks for letting us know that this director is the one who directed Boothakalam. That was a completely hyped movie where Revathy's performance could not save the movie, it was a 100% pointless drama till 95% of the time and then they show some supernatural element for 5 mins in dark, then the movie ended abruptly. I think many critics hype up useless movies in the name of artistic & slow burn

For Mammootty, playing shades of grey, black is nothing new. He has played the character, every freaking time. It is amazing that people are getting to witness it even today. That is a testament folks, especially when actors of his generation are playing to the gallery and acting in mostly action spectacles. I am not saying that is bad, just that Mammootty and his choices have been different.

There is no logical mistake in the demon not being able to grasp the conversations between Siddharth and Arjun. Siddharth hails from that same magical family, and it stands to reason that he's able to protect and mask his thoughts and his conversations effectively with those powers. It's established early on that the demon is unable to decipher anything that Siddharth thinks.

Thanks for the nice review. I watched this movie after your praise and it was well worth it. Spoiler alert! Please watch the movie first!!! I do not understand the significance of lady vampire either, but the other 2 flaws you mentioned have their answers in the movie. The heir can't escape because he'd face the same fate as the other guy if he tried. Also, by end, you see he intended to dominate the antagonist again and wield power over it, rather than just escape. The antagonist does overhear the plot the other two work out against it. You can tell by its reactions towards the other two after the plotting. But they did not execute the plot as they planned, did they? One did something unspoken, and catches the other plotter, the antagonist and also the audience off guard. I think it worked out without big logical plotholes. Also how he used the other guy as a bait plays along cleverly with overall theme of the movie.
