BRAMHA YAGNAM

Brahma yagnam. Brahma yagnam is nithya karma.Brahma yagnam is to be performed daily. The order is
1. sandhiyavandanam (monrning)
2. Madhyanikam.
3. Brahma yagnam.
On pithru tharpanam day the order is
1. morning sandhiyavandanam.
2. Madhyanikam.
3. Pithru Tharpanham.
4. Brahma yagnam.
On mahalaya paksham if you are performing mahalaya tharpanam daily, amavasai thithi will come during the mahalaya paksham. on that particular day (on mahalaya amavasai)the order is
1. Morning sandhi
2. Madhyanikam
3. Avavasai tharpanam.
3. after that again mahalaya pithru tharpanam
4. then Brahma yagnam.

Sri gurubyonamaha. I am glad you asked this query. It is only the tradition which your elders were following. Only minor changes in mantras. In one kurcham method piturus of both sides were aavahanamed in single kurcham itself. In two two kurcham method they were aavahanmed separately . You have to follow how your father did in Tharpanams. If there is no one to guide you, ask your Chittappa or periyappas. Else you follow two kurcham method. Once you start doing please continue the same method always. Mahalayam is very simple. Same concept, if you follow one kurcham same way in mahalapaksham also one kurcham. If you follow tow kurcham in amavasai follow 3 kurchams in Mahamaya packs ham.....

​ @Gurukulam Dear Guru Ji, I have watched both One Kurcham and 2 Kurchams and what I perceived is, If there is NO ONE there (I.e NO Maternal UNCLE/Their Sons - Only Daughter/s from Mother Side) to perform Tharpanam from Mother side We should Take up 2 Kurchams.
