The 'piles of bricks' are steel rebar, used in the construction of reinforced concrete floors. They are taken out of the stacks and laid down and concrete is poured over them, forming a strong smooth floor surface.

My guess on the white diagonal steels connecting to the 2nd roof truss on the north stand will be temporary to keep the truss vertical. I guess once it's connected to the first with horizontal steelwork, the diagonal steels will be removed.

The white steel roof sections lying on pitch will be attached to the white open ends on south east and south west corners that will fill in the final roof shape

The support steels going from the end truss to the first one are going to be temporary. Once the trusses are bound by the roof they'll support themselves. At the moment they are only connected in two places and will be top heavy so the diagonal beams are just stopping any movement until it is connected up.

Hi Nick, great midweek video and really interesting comments and questions, I’m loving the format/ platform you’ve developed for this coverage and it shows that the intro/outro doesn’t need to be on site…your time is better spent on your impending move…good luck with that too. The question on the stacks of brown materials on the corners - I think they are sheets of steel re-bars that will be used to reinforce the final concrete pours on those concourses. The precast concrete sections are lifted into place and then final finishing is a kind of screed that needs reinforcement to keep the structural integrity. Really interested in the views on the final design. For me, I’m really happy with it, it will be our unique new home, the location on the waterfront is perfect, the close proximity of steep terraces around the pitch and the acoustics built into the design will recreate some aspects of Goodison, the main architect has put so much important detail into the design to link old, new and emerging concepts that it will be completely recognisable as ‘our’ stadium. Proud Evertonians will add that finishing flourish I’m sure, when we get in there…

From the plans it appears that vehicles will enter through the northern most gate and travel through a one-way system along the northern concourse. I have seen plan drawing of the showing a 9.477m wide north concourse with room for a lorry and some pedestrians. On a separate document it shows traffic flowing into the car park from the North Concourse, and exciting through the South Concourse. I think in the distant future if everton ever wanted to expand the stadium it would be with limited plans as 2 sides of the stadium is surrounded by water . At the moment I believe its capacity is around 52.000 is quite small considering it will be a new premier league stadium but I must admit it will make the skyline brilliant sailing down the mersey and seeing when complete .wondering on your thoughts of size and location .by the way I am happy for the fans as its been a long time comming and much needed . Thanks for the time your putting in doing these vlogs mate .

we will be relying on the government to pass the safe standing at a 2:1 ratio for the capacity to ever be expanded. Dan Meis did say in the original presentation their are detailed plans for expansion if ever necessary but a change in the law regarding heights of buildings in the area would have to be changed.
@maxbarlow44082 жыл бұрын
9:32 the design was put through two stages of consultation over 43,000 people responded in which over 96% agreed with the overall design. can’t get any better that that. there were certain restrictions in design due to the UNESCO status at the time which the designs corresponded too. This was always the case why are people moaning about it now? This is going to be a very unique stadium and there will be no other like it in the world. Look at City, Arsenal, WestHam all modern yes but have no character whereas ours will show the history of our city and our club whilst also embracing the new elements of modern stadia whilst keeping with our traditions of fans on top of the pitch.

as far as the design goes, at first i thought its just ok and maybe a little simple, but watching it being built and seeing the term 'soulless bowl' used a bunch to describe so many new stadiums these days has really changed my mind 180. Bramley Moore is far from a soulless bowl. its compact, built with atmosphere as top priority, its not round and generic looking, Its totally unique. It has great design aspects like the huge windows and being able to see inside and the rail seating options, It pays homage to the local areas history while staying modern and it's right on the banks of the Mersey. One last point is the cost. almost a 3rd of what spurs' cost.

I think the stadium will be great but I think it could have been better. I don't think people moaning (ironically) at people like me moaning about the stadium quite get the point. I think the capacity should have been more and looking at the east and west as they're being built it's clear you could definitely add a third tier on them. Which may have in turn increased the height of the roof but not necessarily (take a look at Old Trafford's main stand and roof SAF Stand). How that had another tier added. I think the majority of fans wanted 60,000 plus lots of survey's supported this but the club still went for the lower option.
@JayEFC19692 жыл бұрын
I agree future expansion options are limited but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth - the site is a certain size & another tier would mean another £100m spend I'd guess plus the planners restricted the build height. Even billionaires have budgets and would want a rational business case for 60k. Let's fill this first !
@JayEFC19692 жыл бұрын
No chance this stadium will not be completed in my opinion. So much money been spent on it so far that even if Moshiri had to sell at a loss some other billionaire would pick it up at a bargain price and finish it and make themselves a packet. Not sure why anybody would call the stadium design 'generic' Is there another stadium in the UK where the 4 corners are set at an angle as they are in this stadium? I personally think its going to look great and far better than the host of truly generic stadiums built in the last few decades that look as if they were all designed by the same guy with no imagination ... Sunderland, Southampton, Leicester, Reading, Middlesbrough etc. I'm a Hibs fan, but have a soft spot for Everton having been to Goodison a few times in the past. I know there's doubt being cast on the ability to complete the stadium, but I wouldn't worry if I was an Everton supporter, if there's one thing the English premier league has proved its there's no shortage of folk with deep pockets willing to buy the clubs ... no matter how bad a recession gets the world never runs out of billionaires looking for vanity projects and Everton are certainly attractive enough.
