If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost to have it clear coated and the carpet put on? I have a 87 vision bass boat in decent shape in need of these treatments. That’s a beautiful Ranger you have there!

Im looking at getting a boat just like this. Owner is 80 and getting out of fishing. Some woof transom stories got me worried. Price is excellent. Does the wood transom scare you or am i worrying too much.

I bought a 1986 Ranger 370V Comanche new in August 1985. It had a Johnson GT 150 and I still own this boat except with a Johnson GT 200. My seats are like yours and you are missing the center seat cushion and short (about 5" high) seat back, that levels out with the back deck. Your 150 Johnson is a few years older than 1986. You or someone has done a nice job updating the boat. Contact Ranger and you can get the center seat.

Those windshields look mint ,my brother,and buddy own 86 rangers I got a 95 Those 86s ranger must have made a butt load of them there tuff I see them all.the time

Don’t get rid of it I’m in the same situation I’m restoring my grandfathers boat from 1989 with a Johnson 40 mine also does not run very well I will be staying tuned to see what happens don’t get rid of the boat

Dude Lets Fish if possible can you share how you created the extension to make the front completely flat. I have found several older rangers here in California. But I don’t like the front bench seats. I want to make it all flat in the front. Thanks again man. Tight lines

Ranger boats of the 1980s are very comfortable, sturdy, with tons of quality for Bass fishermen. I have fished on a few. His vintage Hummingbird depth finder is outdated like the original Space invader video game. lol The first item I would add is a modern fish finder that shows boat speed, water temp, color video, GPS mapping .... etc

That's in fact a lie....back in the day outboard motor manufactures recommended straight 30 wt oil of any brand...and some of them even said you could run USED 30WT oil in there outboards...and thousands of old outboards from the 20s 30s and 40s are still running like new.....and old 2 stroke outboards from the 70s and 80s have more time on them then any new outboards amd still get beat around the lakes and up the rivers with no issues.....basicly if it's getting oil it will.be fine don't be a bran slit and worry about brands
